Peugeot PKN13

Hi guys
I just bought a really nice Peugeot Competition PKN13 (almost identical to the PK10 and PKN10 but with a triple instead of a dual chain rings) in very good original condition, but I have some issues.

Do I need to make new threads to fit SPD-pedals or does a converter do the job without sending the pedals to far out?

Where do I get hold of the smallest 32t chain ring? Mine is missing.
The original equipment was as follows:
Crankset - Stronglight 49D Tri (14x125 170) with 52, 42 and 32t.
Which other brands could I fit? TA?
This is what it's supposed to look like, attachments does not work so I have to enclose a link:

Thanks for any help.
Cheers

If the pedals on the bike are make R and L it is English threading and you are able to use any pedal style. I am not familiar with stronglight but it looks like a TA or Lambert crankarm and chainring bolt pattern.

Thanks nwbikeman
No markings so I guess French thread then.

Is it just me or is the outer chain ring mounted wrong? The mounting on the pedels seems outside on my bike and and inside on the picture in the link. That way the clearance for the inner third chain wheel would fit because on my bike it seems a bit narrow.

The back of the crankarms should be marked. 14 X ? = French, 9/16 X 20 = BSA

No more theories on the Stronglight 49d chainring mounting? Right or wrong???

I agree with your observation - the one in the photo link has the mounting flange inside the big ring instead of outside like on yours. If chain line is an issue the way it is now then you should probably move it over.

Do you have the missing chainring bolt?

Mark

Mark - no, I donīt have that bolt, but I will replace all of them as they are a bit rusty.
I have just started to polish the chain rings and the bike is sparking so I want the bolts to look good as well.
I want to sort the mystery of the third chain ring first. No idea if chain line will be an issue, but I guess time will tell.
Itīs supposed to be three rings from the start so I think it should be OK.
The front derailler seems to be able to travel a bit more.

Check this link and itīs mounted as on my bike:

Are there two models????
