Sub-FAQ?

I'm new here but already learning interesting things; but all strung out amongst almost a decades' worth of posts. Search always helps! But, is there any organized place to locate handy-hints? I tried the BF FAQ but it seems to be for BF in general. Seems like there's a lot of how-to and where-to-get info that should all be in one place; I've seen this on other (car-related) forums. Stickys are great but...

No one will talk to you until you post up some pics of those bikes in your signature. :)

Seriously though, we've had many stickys in C&V, but the end result is that they ate up too much of the first page. So just ask away. It keeps the conversations flowing, even if it's not always immediate satisfaction.

And FYI - the BF search function can often be next to useless.

I built and published MY "TEN SPEEDS" just for you. Seriously!

Hope it is a help.

OP asked about searching forums posts, so if its forum posts you want and not just one person's constantly plugged personal site the best bet is to use Google to search BikeForums.

the syntax you'd wanna use is " <Search Terms> site:bikeforums.net" where you replace <Search Terms> with the actual terms you're searching for.
Also we're fairly friendly when it comes to re-hashing old stuff so if you're stumped just start a thread and ask.

Between randy's MYTENSPEEDS, Sheldon Brown's website and VeloBase.com as well as a hand full of others, there are a few good concentrations of information out there in addition to the forum that are good to keep at hand.

I'm going to check out those links, perhaps exactly what I need (are they linked to the C&V page and I missed it?).

Where I'm coming from: for years I was a Mazda Miata owner, miata.net is aobut the best-organized forum I've evern seen. Here's how they accure and organize helpful info (YMMV):

Full marks! :thumb:
Glad I asked, I'll be checking that out in depth.

If you can find the "messiest workspace" photo thread, you'll realize it ain't gonna happen here. :D
