Just finished cleaning up a Fiori for a friend.
 

A friend of my family recently inherited this bike and it was in pretty good shape, just really grimey. Here are some before pics on how things were looking.

Heres a couple photos to hopefully date this bike. I assume the Fiori database is pretty slim. As it shows, it is a 56. If it was a 58 it would be far more tempting to "never finish" servicing this bike.

Here are the after pics. Please dont remark on the ugly seat, its the only thing I had that kinda fit, the owner wants to use the bike as a daily(but im guessing not so daily) commuter so it had to be more comfy than the Concor that came off it.

Also please dont lambast me about the tires being mounted backwards(BOTH OF THEM!!), it was like 3am yesterday when I put them on and it seemed EVERYTHING I tried to do to my bikes was going very wrong. I think the cold snap here shrunk everything in my garage and made my tools hate me.

From what i've gathered Fiori is from Japan, built in Canada and named to sound Italian. As a Canadian C&V bike enthusiast thats not a bad combo in my books.


I only hope he treats this bike the way it should be treated. My favorite pic is the last one.

Nice job, dude! I really like it.That saddle doesn't look all that bad, either........really.

Are those 27x1 1/4's on there? Not much brake clearance, eh....haha! I bet it rides smooth, though.....especially on rougher or unpaved roads. 700c's might look snazzy and have advantages, but they just don't ride quite like 27's, I think. At the moment, I have some 27 x 1's on my Bottecchia. Graceful and fast!!

Beautiful bike! And a wonderful job overhauling it.
I noticed the rear derailleur's cable housing is standard spiral brake housing. Is the bike being used in friction shift mode only? Just wondering if the SIS is functioning well with such a cable back there. If so, that means linear housing isn't required (for DT index).

The rear is in SIS mode and it works GREAT! Just click and it moves to the next one perfectly.

Thanks man! The wheels are 700 and there is very very VERY little clearance between the brakes and tires. The owner wanted wider tires, these might be a little too big. I told him to tell me right away if there was any rubbing and id just keep these tires and get him a pair that was a good medium between these and typical road bike tires.

There is a very cute Fiori that is in service around town operated by an even cuter female rider.

I made the mistake of ogling (the bike) when it was locked up outside, and when she came outside, I asked her about it. She seconded the "built in Japan+Canada to look Italian" story. And wasn't too creeped out, to boot. If I see it around again I'll take a picture. It was very pretty, and caught my eye as something Italian from a distance.

If I recall correctly that bike also had Tri-Color, but it was in red/white/chrome.

Lol, when I put the tape on that website was exactly what I thought about. I know splash tape can go wrong easily but I thought this was a pretty good match. Oh well.
