My painter uses this and it looks really nice. It is not like chrome but a great fake. Expensive and a little delicate but I would use it on a refinish in place of re-chroming lugs or a fork crown.

That Hyabusa is ridiculous. I wonder if it blinds people whilst riding down the highway.

I don't know but as many times as I dropped my GS1150ES back in the day there is no way I would put a finish like that on a bike. It wouldn't last 6 months. OTOH, I have haven't dropped a road bicycle in at least 15 years so I might be willing to chance it on a bicycle.

Personally, I think chrome should always be used as an accent unless your accents are a different color. In fact, I just stripped a frame down to the nice shiny metal for a repaint. Thought to myself, "if this is what a chrome bike looks like no thank you."

But that is just my opinion.

Flat black is for accents.

You can get a pretty close match to chrome with powdercoating, these are powdercoated Ford Racing valve covers.
