Assos wheelset?

Did anyone see this auction?

I was outbid.:crash:
Does anyone know if these are descent rims? They look very nice.

I think they look nice too, just went to the wrong guy. They can't be to bad they don't have "Z" bend spokes.

I wish I saw that earlier.

I thought anything Assos is hard to find and expensive when they go for sale. Those wheels look really good in the pics for used ones. I think the winning 43 buck bid was a bargain! I would have certainly bid for them if I knew about the auction.

A few years ago I outfitted my Pinarello with them. I think Assos' rims, like the one in your auction, look very classy, not to mention period correct on a mid-80's bike.

Back around 1990, I built up a Assos Rim as a front wheel for time trials, 28 bladed spokes and a 150gr panaracer track tire that was around 18mm wide. It was a very fast & aero wheel that held up fine for time trial racing. I think the rims were around 260gr and were narrower than any other available rims.
