Drysdale Red Devil Track Bike Wood Rims Major Taylor Stem

I picked up this Alvin Drysdale Red Devil Track bike. Made in New York City. Features a BSA crankset , Major taylor stem , Nice true wood rims, Wiley Bayless hubs , The seat post is marked Reynolds 531. Came with a nice clamp on track brake set up that I removedand an extra set of wood wheels with BSA Hubs. I am a happy boy, just need to change out the tire and take it for a ride. Too bad someone repainted the bike. The red you see poking out is where I wiped the old paint with a little paint thinner to reveal some of the original paint, thinking about trying that on the whole frame.

Great bike - Drysdale was one of the great American bicycle builders, and part of the vibrant era of US cycling between the two world wars.

very nice. One day I'll get an old, old track bike with wooden rims (hopefully).
