'61 Paramount: Another excuse to post a picture.

It's been a while:

I could sell the entire collection tomorrow, and stick with this '61 forever. Don't ask me why. It puts a smile on my face whenever I see it, and I enjoy it no matter what trouble it gives me (for the most part, none).

I still remember taking this photo in August of '06; just after I completed it. Lots of things have changed since then:

Anyone here have a similar experience with one of their steeds?

I love all my bikes, but I seem to have a fetish for Super Courses. This one was my mount today for an extra-long ride.

'73 Super Course TT , Flamboyant red.

I have a liking for that Super Course of yours too. It isn't often you see the Carmine Red TT edition. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't yours is the only 1973 Super Course TT presently on the forum?

I don't have a story for this thread but I'd love to hear some.

Thanks Kurt. I really don't know if anyone else has one. - They might and have one and not even know it, because the gold lettering tends to fade, and you can see from the picture (below) when I first purchased it. As I know it, the only identifying characteristics were the red color (I thought it was called "Flamboyant" not "Carmine"), and sprint wheels (mine are hanging in the garage whilst I ride on Pasella clinchers, below).

Of all the riding I've done this spring, most has been on my '66. I even took some new photos of it. A very comfortable ride, it would be one of the last to go out of my non Japanese group.

Last week, I finally started on building my '71 P-13 frameset. So far so good! Pictures by the end of the week. It won't be 100% period correct, but it will be ridable here in the mountains.

(And it will not use that ugly threadless Profile stem.)

I feel this way about my 73 Gran Sport. Maybe it's because I've had it the longest (since '73).

I feel this way about my Austro Daimler Inter-10. If it was my only bike I'd build it a little differently, but I'd still love it just as much.

it started as this:

Its just awesome no matter how its built :)

Quick Paramount/Campagnolo related question:

Once again I'm challenged by the odd size of the ferrules which fit in the stops for the derailleur cables. I'm using barend shifters so I have a Campagnolo down tube stop band, plus the stop on the rear chainstay. The modern 4mm plastic/nylon ferrules don't fit into these stops. Any suggestions or sources?

On the '72? Run the stainless cable directly into the chainstay stop. Are you using stainless at the bar ends too?

I've made some progress on the '71 P-13 build. Started to fit the wheels this evening but was called away before I could finish. I'm leaning towards 1 & 1/4" Panaracer skin walls. Or should I go with all black tires? I want this to be a long distance comfortable ride. How do you like the NOS Brooks B5N?

Did someone say paramount? I brought this one home 10 minutes ago. It's a bit new, maybe 92, but nice with 105 components:
