How old is my bicycle?

I did have some fun writing How Old Is My Bicycle?

Still having fun trying to get uploading information down pat, though:-(

Tonight I meet with a guy who knows what he is doing. I just might get MY "TEN SPEEDS" working the way it should yet.

you should really start by setting up your .htaccess file so that when you go to www.mytenspeeds.com you go to the index page rather than your webhost's default page.

You want to modify /public_html/.htaccess

What a great web site! Thanks for doing that.

What is up with the chain/chainwheel on the home page photo. The chain is not nesting down into the teeth on chainwheel.

And this is my big problem with the website. I do not know what I am doing. I would do as you suggest, in a heart beat, if I knew how, or where to look or what to do when I got there.

Honestly, I am so website building ignorant. I am amazed that I managed this and am not really sure how I did it.

I am going to meet with a fellow from Lakehead University this evening. I hope he will want to take on the job of managing the site. I have been trying to figure this stuff out for years and I just don't get it:-(

Any help with your suggestion would be doubly appreciated.

That is the chain wheel from my fifties CCM Westonia. The bike is still "as found" and, in answer to your question, I don't know - yet.

I do want to clean the old CCM up but there are always other projects that present greater interest or need.

I am always impressed with the volume of work you produce Randy.

Several years ago I learned basic HTML and got a simple program, WS_FTP to upload with. I used a small ISP that you could call and the person who answered the call knew the material. When I moved to to VT I ended up with Comcast who was not interested in my issues.

I am thinking about jumping into wordpress to see if I can figure it out. I tried Frontpage and ended up giving up. I just noticed that my URL is not being hosted anymore. Sweet.

I guess poachers eventually get caught.

I am a WordPress guy already and I just became one yesterday. The fellow who is helping me get the website right said that WordPress is the way to go, so away I go.

I did build MY "TEN SPEEDS" with an outdated version of Front Page. I prefer working on my computer and then uploading, but I am willing to try building on-line. The Guy says do it, so I gonna do it.

I do hope that, one day, my website proves to be a useful and entertaining resource for people to use. I hope also, that it will start generating a wee bit of income, to supplement my pension. But most of all, I hope I continue to enjoy writing and publishing vintage bicycle information.
