This TX900 has everything I wanted in a C&V bike, including: Columbus tubing, 3x6 drivetrain, 700c wheels with Campy NR high flange hubs. The fact that the bike is an American brand and that the frame size is XXL is perfect for me.
The frame size is 65cm c-to-c by 60 c-to-c. The stand-over is snug but the reach from the saddle is just right.
The componentry is mostly a mixture of Shimano Dura-ace & Deore XT! The crankset is SR Apex with 52, 40 & 34t chainrings. The pedals are Suntour Superbe. The headset, brake levers, brakes and shifters are Dura Ace. The hubs are high flange Campagnolo NR 36 hole, the rims are Mavic . The odd-ball drivetrain must have been added to the frameset in stages. Chances are that the Dura Ace bits were installed on the frameset when the bike was new and the other items were added later. I consider the drivetrain to be ideal for hilly century rides, so it will remain.

Given the wide varity of Treks, thought I would add mine even though it is in rough condition. Bought this last year on a whim and paid too much for it, but..... When I got it home I realized the eyelets were drewed off! Given it was rattle canned and brakes did not meet the factory cat spec, I am thinking of going with parts I have availalbe like Campy NR RD and FD with Suntour Bar Ends, Tubulars (NR LF hubs and GP4 Rims) and new paint. I have a Stronglight 93 too. Would end up as a frankentrek.

Here's a 1987 560 Pro Series EX in grey metallic to black fade Imron I found in excellent condition. Only non-original component is the Velocity Fusion rear rim. Superb ride of course - a keeper.

I agree very nice Rokrover but I wish the pics were bigger. I love these frames and need to get one some day.
In other news I now have a Trek!! well sort of have a Trek. I know who would have thought? Anyway after a few rides on the '09 cloth and glue K2, I decided it was atime to give recycled beer cans a try again. Since I can't afford a modern multishaped aerofoilish alloy frame, I decided to go vintage and having ridden '90ish Cdales in the past I decided to go with something else and came up with this thanks to Kemmer. It is an early '90s 2000 unfortunately missing the shifter bosses.
Trek no longer supplies spares, and recomended Nova Cycles Supply for them. Well they do not seem to have the Trek/Alan/Vitus style with the small (spoke size) hole but more like the Cdale style with a larger (pencil size) hole. What I am wondering is can I simply drill the holes out and add the extra smaller "keyhole" and simply muse the Cdale bosses I already have?

The Mongrel Gets An Update...
Decided to get the old mutt ready to ride the MUP paths close by; my trusty Jones cyclocross tires, some no name rando bars and a couple parts out of the bin and she's ready to go exploring!

Amazing, but true...
Just picked this 830 up. Can't tell if it's a 83, 84, or 85. The color and components don't match up completely with the specs for any of those years. Any more info would be great. Got a smoking deal on it, and it'll be fun for vintage rigid rides. Bone stock except for newer tires. Love the bullmoose handlebars

My 1984 Trek 620. I picked up a pair, I plan to keep this one, move the other one (same size) to a new home). I upgraded it a tad, with Suntour barcons, the Cannondale bags, and Cyclone G1 derailleurs. Also swapped the 27 inch wheels with a set of 700c. Need to take another pic in better light.

Clones. I have my 1991 8000 back,and the 7000 I already posted. The 8000 is almost all original and I'm the original owner. There isn't a scratch on it.
The lighting for this photo is from my Cree XML flashlight that I use as a headlight. I had to turn it low otherwise the beam drowned everything else out.

I've had this bike for close to two years now. She was a rescue from a trach heap. When I got her, she was in VERY rough shape. But a LOT of elbow grease and some part I had laying around, 3 cockpit revisions and with the last cockpit revision (as shown), I changed her from a 7 spd drive train to a 9 speed drivetrain. Since I got her, she's turned out to be a very fine & useful bike. I ride her more than any of my other bikes.
Just need a front rack for it. For fun. LOL

My 1989 1200 (Pure Alcoa!)
Shimano 105, Matrix rims. Bike was super clean and so minty I couldn't resist. Added the tires and have since put on SPD-SL pedals.
The 52/42 is a bit HTFU for me.

I may be violating some rules here, but this is my 1990 1400 with modern updates.
The derailleurs and brakes are the original 105, but I upgraded to 7sp brifters. I installed an all carbon fork with a threadless headset setup a few years back. I also replaced the cranks (wanted longer) earlier this year from a square taper and loose bearings to an Octalink cartridge but kept the 105 theme. The wheelset are the original Matrix rims on 105 hubs assembled by Trek in Waterloo. I ride this interchangeably with my other more contemporary bikes, and folks on my group rides are surprised to know that the frame is over 20 years old.

This falls more into what I would call the 'restomod' category than Classic & Vintage, but the roadies would laugh me out of their forum.
This is my first road bike and my first build - and I absolutely love it. She's fast, smooth and silent. I just started cycling this summer, putting 750 miles on a singlespeed Mercier Kilo TT, and this bike is a totally different animal.
I picked up the frame, fork and headset (1988 Trek 660 21") on eBay and built it up slowly as I could piece together used parts from various sources. It's a Tiagra 9 speed group with an Alex AXL320 wheelset.
