I really like the finish of the frame, and a dura ace rear derailleur on a MTB back in the days, that was something special.

Hey we have the same bike apologies if I've already posted it...
The previous owner of mine converted it to single speed (700c wheels) and added the moustache bars. So far I've put on the Sugino cranks, and Blackburn rear rack & bell.
I'm currently working on some cosmetic changes, cranberry cloth bar wrap (I'm not a fan of cork), black brake hoods, red cable housings, toe clips & straps...etc. Planning on doing some light touring with it this summer, it rides as nice as any Trek I've owned. I think these mid-80's Treks are underrated.

Just finished this 1983 600, The only thing I changed was the crank, went with a Sugino compact so I could still use the original Suntour BL derailleurs.

found a little humpback schwinn vegabond that had these little chrome fenders and saddle tool bag. not sure about the fenders though,

Took a ride to Point Judith, R.I. today with my son. His bike is down with a bad bb so he used my 85 660 and I took the 83 600. Real nice day for a ride today, we rode from SE Conn. into R.I. and to the ocean.

I posted this 1985 770 when I first picked it up back in November. Here is a new pic. Ignore the saddle and pedals. Its components are a bit of a mixture with mostly Campy SR, with Campy Triomphe calipers and Cyclone levers. Looks great from about 10 feet away.

That 770 looks great from 1500 miles away also How do you like the Veloflex tires? They're on my short list for my '82 750, but I'm kinda hoping I can shoehorn 28mm tires in between the stays...

I can't give much of a riding impression yet as I've only done a couple of shakedown runs so far. But, they were a big PIA to mount to the Mavic rims. I just could not get the last part of the bead to go over onto the rim. I admitted defeat and took the wheelset to my LBS to get the tires mounted.

I hope to get out on a ride this weekend and I'll report back to you. Roadrunner, AKA OFG, raves over these tires.

I've just returned from a nice one hour ride on my 770. Man, this bike is stable. It doesn't complain when I get out of the saddle to sprint. There isn't any BB flex to speak of when climbing. It is agile without being twitchy. This bike is likely to be around my house for quite a while.

The Veloflex Master 23 tires ride wonderfully. Turn in is sharp and stable. They aren't bad over rough pavement, and they seem to be more quiet than the other C&V styled tires I've used, which have mostly been Paselas.

I may just keep that non period correct Selle Italia saddle on there too. So far I find it to be a comfy perch to ride on. The rat trap pedals are gone and have been replaced by Shimano SPD touring pedals. I installed an OMAS bottle cage and my Silca frame pump and JandD seat bag.

You need some hoods! How do you ride without them?

So far, I have been placing my hands on the bar tops, on the bars just aft of the hoods, or on the drops.

In due time I will likely change the levers out to something with hoods.

Nice Bike! I have that exact frame. Quick question. What size tires are you running? I recently bought fenders and from the looks of things, they aren't going to fit with the 700c x32 tires I'm rolling now.

1982 Trek 412. Ishiwata tubing. At the bottom was the ad I spotted and jumped on it. The guy even delivered it. It was very rough. 27" wheels that were unusable and just a lot of rusty parts. Fortunately that Trek paint was in very good shape.

I did a 700c wheel conversion and got some Tektro 538 calipers. Added some Kool stop pads in the front for a little extra stopping power.
A lot of the parts I had laying around. The rear wheel, cranks, saddle, brake levers, Suntour barcons, FD and some new cable stops and guides from my parts drawer.
I got a newer 105 RD to cover the 9 speed in the rear and put a new Tange Levin head set on it. Put some 28c's on it and will probably add fenders later on. I may not ride in the rain but they would look nice.
The purple locking skewer on the front wheel came with it the wheel. I may change that

I like the way it rides. The 28's roll nicer than I thought they would for an inexpensive tire. Lot of fun and get some people asking about it.

Some big changes. Sad to see the old setup go, as it looks so classic and simple, but it's time for something new.

Project "Rivendellify my Trek" is well underway. Some tweaking of the fender line, cables & some final touches and it should be on the road this week. I have a metric century ride planned for next Sunday and really look forward to testing out this configuration. Planning to do some touring and lots of commuting with this rig.

First I tore everything down and repacked the bb, headset and hubs with new grease

After last nights work: I decided to swap in my spare black Brooks B17, the bar wrap will be black, and with the creme fenders, I tought it would make for a better overall look.

How many other pink Trek road bikes are there?

I ran into a guy on a local path on a "vintage" pink Trek- I said "sweet bike!" but I'm not sure if he either thought I was ****ing with him or didn't hear me. Regardless- if it's a pink Trek- it's badass.

By the way, I was on my 85 620.

If it has those type graphics with the model number on the downtube- it's an 84.

As far as I can tell, the 770 is the only vintage road bike that Trek made in pink.
