Stripped and fixed '89 660:

The powdercoating was getting a little ragged so I decided to strip and repaint it. But I liked the bare steel so much I decided to just wax it and rebuild it. New BB, chain, cables, tape and handlebars; everything else has had a few miles on it.

That looks like one well used and well maintained Trek. Keep up the good grinding work. Just a personal quirk, please don't lay that beauty down on the ground on the drive-side.

Lovely Treks!

Mine is currently in a fixie phase, since my dedicated fixed gear frame went to the chopping block to pay for my upcoming wedding. Rest assured it will be rebuilt with a full drivetrain soon enough.

Trek 520 ... Sport Touring ... 1985

Outside of needing a new R-side brake lever hood*, this one looks as if it were about 2 months old.

*picking up a new set of lever hoods is on my "to do" list

Beautiful bikes folks!

I don't actually have this yet, but it is supposed to ship today or tomorrow. After looking at www.vintage-trek.com I think it is a 1987 Trek 330, anyone know for sure? This will be my first Trek and only my 3rd ever road bike (Schwinn Tempo and cheapo Denali in the past couple years).

I love the way a bike with fenders looked. Makes me wish I lived somewhere it rains!

Good point. There are definetely many reasons not to do that in the future.

This is my first bike without a kickstand.

It's not like you need a reason to post photos of that bike, keep 'em coming!

** edit ** interesting - I bought a truckload of the same bricks in that photo to build a patio. A local nursery owner had a pile of them from an old demolition job...

Thanks!

Ah good old Augusta Block. It is very common here in FL. All of our brick roads are made with the stuff. It's the "old size" brick, much more dense also. It is over 100 years old and holds up extremely well to the moisture and abuse. Your patio will last forever!

@cobrabyte, awesome bike. I think he cotton looks much better than the cork. For some reason it just ties the whole thing together better. And how do you like the longboard fenders? I'm pretty set on getting a pair of the tan ones for my next project.

I just gave my '86 560 a facelift. I had the"custom"(rattle can) paint replaced with powdercoat and added some extra fenders I had from another project.

before

after.
The rest of the story is on my blog, under "Retro Trek"
