I have both. The King Cage versions are stainless steel, the MKS version seems like chromed steel of a slightly thinner diameter.

The MKS version have elongated screw apertures- so you can adjust the positioning of the cage (L-R) on the pedal. The King version just has a round aperture.

The King versions look a little more classy in that they're stainless. And you know that they're 3x the price of the MKS versions.

The MKS versions are more adjustable.

I had some pix- but they were eaten by Pee Bucket and I can't seem to find the originals... I'll take some more later.

I've been replacing all my toe clips with these MKS cages, they're really nice! They also make a half-cage which is also really nice. They go particularly well with the MKS Urban Platform, which is my favorite pedal.

Crikey, the sickness continues! I picked this up last night for $100, a 1993 Trek 1420 in 50cm that strangely seems to fit me just fine (I usually ride a 53/54cm frame) so now that's got me rethinking my size requirements.

I was originally buying it to pull the parts off and put 'em on a 87' 330, but this is a much nicer frame than the 330. The 1420 looks barely ridden - everything is original except for the toe clips - even the tires look to be in great shape. I've never had a bike with barcon shifters before either.

Edited to add - I took off the pedals because I'm not much of a pedal toe strap guy, and it turns out these are Campagnolo Chorus aero pedals or something like that, and they might be worth what I paid for the entire bike!

BTW, I LOVE the teal 400 posted either! I've yet to ride my red 400 - curse you winter!

That's a nice 1420 and an interesting combination of components: RX100T crankset (can't quite make it out), Deore DX derailleurs, 105 hubs and brake levers, and bar ends. You should have a friend take pics of you riding both bikes to compare. That drivetrain is killer - worth the entry fee alone

Outfitted my winter beater with a home-brew fender setup for the January thaw this week. You know, I hesitate to call it my winter beater because it's actually a really, really nice bike. It's super light, and it's the third Trek of this ilk I've had. I got it for free, and had to JB Weld the FD shifter boss, but it's been holding strong for three years now. I overtightened a spoke truing the rear Matrix wheel, which still bugs me because mismatch. The problem is as much as I want it to be the bike I just throw in the garage when it's done, I end up meticulously cleaning it after every ride!

I had an 1100 from that period and I really liked it. It was my first true road bike. I ultimately decided to let my stepson have it because it was one size too small. I sometimes think about tracking one down in a 60cm.

1989 trek 400

Just bought a mint 1989 TREK 400 for $265. Bought it for rainy winter rides, but have to admit it is giving my 1981 all Campy Record VINER pretty stiff competition for ride and handling. But what else to expect from 1980s Waterloos.
My 1982 710 frame is still amazing after 35 years of constant use.

I think I've occasionally seen that 710 locked up at 35th and Division.

Nope, this old 710 rarely leaves the westside anymore ,but I did buy it at the original Bike Gallery on NE Sandy way back in 1982

Are those Mavic G40s? My 710 has a set. I've gotten paranoid about hitting any potholes... my favorite all time rim and haven't been able to find any in years.

Definitely period correct... these are the levers I originally installed to go with the Cyclone IIs when I bought my 710 frame back in 1982:
