Finally I got them posted.
I'm very pleased to know it's getting ridden the way it was intended to. Damn fine riding bike BTW. Also, at that frame size I believe they were using Columbus SP tubing.

I've got my eye on an 89 2300 Pro with a full Tri Color 600 group on it. If the price is right I'll be posting soon. Nice job on this one.

Trek 700 something

T

This is a earlyish 80’s Trek 700 something. With assistance from knowledgeable people here I am pretty sure it has a factory repaint and a different fork than when it first shipped. Thanks to Gugie for some work on the forks this is my ride this year. It is a dream!

'700 something'? Have you looked up the serial # on Vintage Trek? It really is a pretty bike.

Here is the thread I originally posted when I first got the bike. My faulty memory is to blame for the date. The main frame is 1977 or 1978. The fork is from the 80’s as are the decals and non-screw in head badge.

It is a pretty blue bike!

I put this together for my daughter who is staying with us for Covid. 1982 715. I found it with original cranks, front and rear derailleur, shifters, and front brake. For now, it is 6 speed indexed shimano. It makes me miss my full size 710.

Added this to the stable last week. I took this picture at dusk yesterday just to see how bright this yellow is. All original including bar tape. Amazing condition. Only cleaned and changed tires.

The "other" 750, not as common as the Multitrack that shared the number later. This is a 1982 that was probably sold as a frameset, built up with a very nice group. Very nice rider, but not getting ridden much by me.

750, 950, 930, 970. The originals. The mountain stuff came later, and they don't register to this C&V road bike lover. Your 750 is gorgeous. Dual Trek panels? No more legit than that! Still on the low-key search for a 1982 750 or 950 frameset (or complete 757, 759, 957, or 959, naturally) because we have eyes and the paint color/panel color combos are sublime (to say nothing of the geometry, tubing, and construction). Gotta find it in 64cm form though......

I took the 640 out for a spin over the holiday weekend. It came to me with a mostly complete Nuovo Gran Sport group, but I swapped most of that out for some assorted shiny bits that I prefer.

This is one of my Treks. A 1987 Trek Elance 330.
52cm. Converted to 650b using Pacenti wheels and Pari-moto tires. Tektro 559 brakes. Currently runs Microshift R8 shifters, RS-500 crankset, 105RD, RX100 FD. Very comfortable bike for centuries and brevet rides.
