Old TREK for $125.00
I have been looking for a nice old TREK for years, and I finally found this one. The front wheel is missing, but otherwise it appears to be all original. (Except for the aero bars, of course!) Even the National 700c x 32c rear tire matches the TREK OE specs. It appears to have been ridden a few hundred miles and then stored in a coal cellar for thirty years. Then boy racer got hold of it and mounted the aero bars. Thank heaven he got bored and gave it away before turning it into a fixie!

I just checked my parts bin and I have the same Blackburn front rack that is shown in the TREK brochure. I bought it about 1980 when I toured Europe on my PX-10. I think it belongs on the 728.
A funny thing about the rear rack on the TREK. It is mounted to the INSIDE of the bosses, so the chain can't shift onto the small cog. I'm pretty sure its been that way since new. Another reason I think the bike has been idle for most of it's life.

Here's my '84 520. Picked it up a couple of years ago great condition. I changed out the pedals and the saddle, added some fenders, and now I use it for touring and occasionally for commuting.

1980 610?
Just picked up this one today from the original owner, based on his account and serial number starting with an N, it's a 600 series from somewhere between 1979-1981. The paint is near flawless with 1 small rust spot. It has mostly Suntour components and Reynolds 531 tubing, the Strong Seatpost and Flite saddle were not original.

Nice score Vonruden! Even the head badge looks to be in good shape. Trek did not believe in extra braze on items yet at that point did they? Maybe you can install stylish chrome cable clamps for the top tube. I don't know a lot about that model, but that bike seems to look just right to me.

That is snazzy! I think Trek started to move to glued on head badges instead of screwed on about 1980. Looks like yours is glued, so probably an 80-81. Nice score; glad it is not my size.

Had a little rain today so it was a great day to ride.
