Aired up and washed the 79 510, and installed a nice saddle. I am thinking about putting the Gran Sport group back on this bike. Not sure what I will put the flip flop wheel and brakeset on. Maybe the team Miyata frame?,,,,BD

It's the Deda leather look stuff, in tan. I stretched it out on a long piece of wood, wiped it down with alcohol, and sprayed it dark brown with SEM vinyl dye. So far so good. I have two bikes with this color wrap.,,,,BD

I had been looking for a well priced pre-1991 lugged 970, 950, or 930 for a while. I think 1991 is when they switched from 1" to 1 1/8" stems. Luckily, I stumbled across this 1989 950 in my top color choice for a steal.

My goal was to diversify a bit by adding a mountain bike that I wasn't afraid to ride on light trails, I'm a big guy and was afraid of breaking my 1985 600 (which is for sale on my local craigslist btw). I moved the 650b setup, upright bar setup, and other parts over from that bike.

Key details: Nitto Technomic, Nitto Promenade B603 bars, Son Dynamo/Phil Wood/Velocity Synergy 650b wheels, Panaracer Pacenti Pari-Motos (38mm), Suntour XC thumb shifters flipped and mounted inside, Tektro cr720 canits, Stanley 20oz One Hand Vacuum Mug....great for frozen margaritas. Still need to rig up the Supernova lights.

Future plans: beige SKS longboard fenders, Compass Switchback Hill Tires (48mm) unless something bigger comes out, salmon Koolstop pads, maybe a slighter longer stem.

My new to me '81 957. This thing has seen some miles. It came wearing a well loved SR group that is now resting in a box (It's just chillin', I'll find a frame for it eventually). The Mavic wheels are just temporary until I track down the correct cassette lockring for the other wheels.

freshing up the 83 520 vac pickup. Wanted to feel how it rode b4 putting money into it. bought so yellow tape and brown hoods at the bike shop yesterday. Not much cushion but supposbly durable.

Here's my 1984 460 that's been completely refurbished, all shiny bits have been polished and a new set of Mavic wheels with ten speed hub fitted to the rear triangle. The bike rides like a dream!

Here's my new purchase - a 1991 Trek 950. Paint is white with black splatter. Fork is big and chunky "Cruise Control" type. I prefer tapered forks but the bike was cheap.

Your image link was the address of the Flickr photo page, not the address of the image itself. You have to jump through a few hoops to get the image address from Flickr on an iPad. What I usually do is copy the "image address" from the Flickr app and paste that into Chrome. That will take you to a web page for the photo. From there, I use the "show all sizes" link and navigate to the size I want. Then I click the image and tell Chrome to open the image in a new tab. Finally, I go to that tab and copy the image URL from the browser's address bar and come back to Bike Forums to paste it into a message.

You have to be pretty determined to share a picture.

So far all I've had to do was lube the chain (it needs to be replaced - stretched), patch rear tube, redish & lightly true rear wheel, grease seat post, adjust saddle and clean up a bit. While I had the rear wheel off I used frame tools to ensure the dropouts were aligned and then, once my newly true wheel was reinstalled, I used the derailleur hanger alignment tool to slightly adjust that. I also removed the back panels on the shifters and used liquid silicone spray because the pawls were gummy. Now it shifts fine. The bike has a "Community Cycling Center" sticker, which means they overhauled (likely) it and sold it to the gal I bought it from.

OK, thank you. The decals are supposed to be red, but they're sort of tomato red - red with an orange cast. I'm thinking about red housing....just because.

Here's my early 80's "Vintage Trek". I have not been able to figure out exactly what it is but suspect it's an 81-82 612? I bought it new from Penn Cycle in Richfield Minnesota when I lived the for about a year. It's followed me since, but almost always went back into the basement for storage, since Kids and everything else in life seemed to get in the way.
