Here's my early 80's "Vintage Trek". I have not been able to figure out exactly what it is but suspect it's an 81-82 612? I bought it new from Penn Cycle in Richfield Minnesota when I lived the for about a year. It's followed me since, but almost always went back into the basement for storage, since Kids and everything else in life seemed to get in the way.

Bought this immaculate 1987 Trek 560 a while ago. Rode it for a little bit but unfortunately it was too large for me. Sold it to a good home last week and I'm already missing it!

Maybe someone else knows but the double trek Logos is throwing me off, I only know that decal setup to be on the 700 or 900 series bikes. but these are the older Trek logo on the Seat tube (to 1981)and a 1982-1983 Logo on the Downtube

1981 Model 613
I sent an e-mail to Trek and asked if they could decipher the serial number, N4F2CXX. They could not identify it from the serial number and asked for pictures of the drive side, down tube, head badge, derailuers, decals, and tubing sticker. From the pictures attached below (right click and open in a new window) they said it's a 1981 Model 613. The serial number decodes as a 1982, but ???

The vintage-trek website says, "For M and N leading serial numbers, if the TREK letters on the seattube have no colorwrap behind, the bike is from 1980 or perhaps 1981. If it has a colorwrap, the bike is probably from 1982."

Picked up this 1978 Trek 512/514 frame/fork from sloar. Initially when I saw it posted it appeared to be the racing 536 as old parts were shimano 600. But sn indicated the touring version so went for it. Definitely a 510 and built it back up as fixed. Mix of bin parts and new, slightly over budget of course! I wanted to use Japanese parts where possible in honor of the ishiwata heritage--tange, sugino, dura ace, izumi which sent me over budget but I do like the end result. Looking for another phil wood wheel or hub built up for the rear since current kiss off hub will not fit/convert.
Note this year used 27.0 crown race on headset, I picked up one separately since most old tange are 26.8. Some issues with right rear dropout and fork threading but what do you expect from almost 40 yo non garage queen? I was able to fix both and have done a couple 20mi commutes home. 44/15 did kick me a little yesterday in strong headwind on the slight hills. May find another cog but on downhills and flats it works well esp for the commute length (few stops or lights).

'94 Trek 750
Just picked this one up off of Craigslist for $90. Unfortunately, some marks on the non-drive side from people leaning it against stuff, but otherwise original and in excellent condition. Probably going to do a drop-bar conversion on it, upgrade to 9 speed, and throw on some racks and fenders. Who knows, but it was too pretty to pass on!

I sold this 1983 Trek 600 last year to a collector. I got it back today, I really missed it. Plus a very cool Gary Fisher I'm in the process of putting drop bars on it.

After scouring ebay and craigslist since spring, I scored this 1985 620 last week. At 22.5" it is a bit smaller than the 58cm I usually ride. I feel that smallness in the top tube the most but I'm confident I can make it work. Switching from a 90cm to 120cm stem made me feel right at home. Adjusted the cantis to fit 700c (seems to be working okay so far), swapped in a B17, a longer stem, Nitto Noodles, and a Tubus rack and it is feeling very good. It doesn't accelerate like my road bikes but feels so smooth and steady.
SKS Longboard fenders are the next step. A front rack will get on there eventually and possibly some STI.

I just got a 1995 750T Trekking. I could not find much info on this model. It comes with the light/generator, fenders, rear rack. I guess "trekking" is something done in Europe and this bike was sold in that market as the Trek 790E.

My 1982 Trek 728. Mostly original except rims, tires, seat, bars, stem, headset and pedals. Still have all the original parts stored away, and the seller even provided me with the original Owner’s Manual.
I keep waiting to make the bike “photo clean” and it never seems to happen, so I finally took the shots “as is”. One of these days I’ll clean it up and post appropriate photos.
Love this bike! It rides like a dream. My other “modern” bike is a VO Rando, and they complement each other very nicely…

Took this out today for its first real ride. The frame suprised me, I was expecting a slow
Relaxed geometry. But it's actually pretty snappy. Took awhile to get use to the lower pressure 27" tires, felt sluggish. A few years ago I stripped a junk bike that had gel padding under the bar tape, for some reason I saved them. Worked perfectly under the cloth tape. Overall very happy with this bike.
