Not sure whether this is considered as vintage but here is my 1993 TREK 5200. Probably first carbon bike from TREK.

1994 750
Another low mileage Multi Track follows me home, a '94 750. Looks like it was the only US built steel frame Multi Track for the year. The boat anchor STX steel chainrings will have to go, and it probably wants a nice alloy headset. Cockpit is tight, but I have a 150mm ti stem that's been waiting for a home. 8^)

Awesome bike! My first old Trek was an 84 420 like yours, but mine was built with Shimano stuff instead of Simplex. I just LOVE how deep that blue is, like you can put your finger into it.
Personally, I think you could drop a whole lot of money into an 84 420 and that money would not be wasted.
That bike rode so nicely. I had to sell a bike to make peace with my wife- the bike actually went to one of Junior's friends, and I found out a few months ago that he still has it!

Recently rescued from the rain in the rack of a pawn shop. Well loved but not too abused, mismatched wheels and all. '94 and '95 appear to have identical spec:

That's one of my favorite vintage Trek colors. This is a really sweet looking bike.

Best I can tell this is a 1981 613. My brother in law bought it new and gave it to me a few years ago. It works, but I wish the frame were one size smaller.

Thanks! I built up a NISHIKI with similar geometry. I'm going to have to sell one. Looking at the geometry between the two, the NISHIKI might be a better candidate for a 650b conversion. Maybe next year.

Sorry for the extremely long delay in replying, JT1973. Anyway, here's my thoughts/info:
Yep, they are these brakes: Shimano CT91 Altus Cantilever Brakes
Better than the Deore XT "Deerhead" canti's I had on there before. Nice linear stopping power, and I'd say about 20-30% of the lever pull action is lost to squish with the new ones, as opposed to 30-40% (or 50%, with worn pads and saggy adjustment) with the old ones.
Well, I mean, 700c Canti Conversions are always a bit of lipstick on a pig, IMHO. They are easier, but I wouldn't call them easy. Still, the dot-style straddle wire is WAAAAAAY nicer to deal with than the basic hanger+bolt style of 80-90's era canti's.
I'd say these play OK. You've got to put the posts all the way at the bottom of the track, and angle them in such a way that it leaves little ability for toe-in adjustment. I'd recommend fresh pads when switching, and get the Kool Stop Eagle Claw 2's, as the mud plow tip helps with toe-in issues.
Good luck!

I have your bike's twin, but I got it as a frame and fork so my components are all different.

That gives a nice idea of the depth into that paint.

Just to throw in some current shots of my 1985 720.
The big changes are the Nitto Technomic stem, Nitto B177 bars, the TRP RRL brake levers, the Phil Wood hubs laced to 700c Velocity Atlas rims, Suntour Command Shifters modified to 10 speed SIS, Dura Ace 7803 RD and Suntour Cyclone MII FD.

I trimmed my old Trek in yellow much as you have — even had a yellow Silca pump, which didn’t work very well but looked great!

Whooo boy, that's a pretty 720. I really like how the upgrades don't stand out from what you would expect a stock build to look like, esp. the 7803 RD. You walked right up to the edge on that one, looked over the precipice of mid-to-late-90's Shimano, and wisely turned back.

I think the previous photo hosting website is no good. So, i'm having another crack. A new to me bike that i found in a pile of hard rubbish outside of a home near to my place. The serial number is a little hard to read, but i think it's a 1982 Trek 957 (if i'm wrong, i would love to find out what she is). I am pretty sure it used to be white/blue and has been painted in grey/blue. Campagnolo groupset and Cinelli bar and stem. I have only cleaned her up, replaced the old tyres and bar tape.
Originally planned to just get her working, but everything already worked perfectly. It's such a nice ride and has become my daily ride.
