Campy BB with tiny bearings... C Record?

i pulled this bottom bracket off an SLX tubed Scapin which had a first gen C Record crank and a C Record headset.

velobase doesn't list a C Record BB and no others i looked at seemed to have the same small bearings.

is this a C Record BB or something else?

alloy cups
109mm spindle
3/16in bearings

Super Record (vintage)? They used 3/16" rather than the 1/4" (NR, etc.). Is the spindle asymmetrical?

not sure which you're referring to, i have several Record (SR are scarce and had Ti spindles if i'm correct) and they all use 1/4in balls.

i think OFG is right. bicycleclassics shows 3/16in bearings for C Record road and track BB's. http://www.bicycleclassics.com/bottom.html

Two Versions of C-Record Bottom Bracket...

I recall there were two versions of C-Record bottom bracket. Later version came with a greater number of smaller bearings.

C-Record came with 3/16" balls vs the typical 1/4" balls on Record/Nuovo Record BBs.

There was also a relatively obscure Record bottom bracket from the early 1960s that used 3/16" balls, but these were clearly marked:

This one appears C Record. 3/16" bearings appear at a number of different times. In the early 60's as a Record variation, and the cups were marked as such.

Your choice as to what is best for reduced friction and wear, fewer larger diameter ball bearings or more smaller ones in a slightly larger diameter circle.
