Hello all,
I want to thank everyone who has posted about this bike and given me such good advice, I feel lucky to have this bike and I'm sure that with your help the refurbishment will turn out very well, thanks.

Pictures to date are on Flickr,

I have been posting on this thread up until now,

Nice! I'm looking forward to more pictures.

So... your dogs are called Henry and June? That movie has some great vintage bikes in it.

Oh, then you should check out that beautiful Armstrong someone snagged not long ago... but then as I recall, you'd decided not to snag any more bikes, didn't you?

I just can't help myself when I see such terrific C&V steel!

Beauty, Carl!

Here's my '36 Tourist with the blackout bits I mentioned. These two models probably sat on the bike showroom floor together!

Yup, Henry and June. It is one of my wifes favorite movies. I guess in the movie it is Joon but I had to put my foot down there. (sometimes she lets me get away with it.)
I got given, yesterday, by a local Britbike (motor) enthusiast a Rudge Mustang, SA hub says TCW III and 64___2. I take it that's a 1964 hub? Three spd coaster brake. The bike is awesome, it has a guys name painted on the front fender, by someone who knew how to letter, and has a steel licence plate from Montclair, NJ 1968 riveted to the rear fender.
Amy gets back tonight with the good camera so there will be more pics soon.
How did this happen to me? I'm stuck now in vintage bike land! I never meant to do this.
Well I'm building a Cannondale MTB also so...Kona P2 fork, Paul MotoBMX brakes, probably 1x9, maybe 2x9 but I don't think I want to have to deal with front mech also.

That's excellent, Carl. I was visiting with a friend today who actually has two Golden Arrows (he calls them the twins). Beautiful bikes!

Is the headclip threaded also? I think it is but its coming pretty hard and I don't want to try and spread it if I don't have to.

I don't think it's threaded or at least the one on my Clubman is not. Loosen the bolt or take the bolt out and spray some lubricant on the stem before your rotate the headclip off.

Thanks Michael, I'll check that out.
The fork is out, piece of cake, thirty tiny little balls top and thirty bottom. I could see into the top tube and it is quite crusty. More pictures tomorrow, of the top tube and the fixed cup and the funny repaired? seat stay brace.
I'll get her all fixed up yet.
Take it easy you all.

Hey Carl,
would you treat us to a photo of the chain ring at some point?
Thanks!

Two Golden Arrows in one week? First Auchencrow's, now yours? It's raining pre-war Raleighs here at C&V!

Silly fellow - don't you realize that that mystery Raleigh you just picked up IS one of these, Auchencrow? You own one and you don't even know it!

Yah, you think that's funny? Check out post #3 above! Just in case someone's listening, I wouldn't mind being the next one to pick up one of these either.

Ack, ya beat me to it.

I just sent him a PM. Somehow, I find it quite hilarious to think that he's probably doodling about offline right now, his mind wandering about Raleigh Golden Arrows and "...how much he'd love to own one," while - all this time - everyone else on C&V already knows he has one in his possession.

He posted his wish for a Golden Arrow here at 1:38 PM on Tuesday. It was granted later that evening. Clearly Auchen is onto something.

You and FTWelder, and Auchen now each have one of these and I don't know who else, but I'd sure like to be the next--after Amesja--to snag something like that !

Here is another one. This thread got me pumped so I bought some spring stock to make saddle springs. Your saddle is a B 25s/n Brooks.
