Boy that poor things really been neglected. I like the unpainted aluminum and it looks like it should clean up real nice. Looks like you got a good foundation for a very nice ride.

+1, the RX100 bits are great, nice calipers and crank. Those RX100 hubs are fine and laced to an aero section Mavic rim? Heck, the wheels are probably worth your price. Those Sakae Modolo bars are some of my favorite.
I think you got a good deal, and those dual triangle frames are cool.
Given my penchant for polishing I'd almost have a go at the full frame
Spend a few bucks on consumables and ride it!

that's what I'm thinking too........just make a cool rider out of it......I was just concerned as this is (was) the most valuable bike I have obtained. It started life as a $2500 bike (Bikepedia). I'd hate to do something non C & V to it. I read this board a lot and I don't think there are many sacred aluminum bikes so I think I'll have at it with the parts I have.
Will down tube shifters work on the bosses where the STI adjusters are??

Yes, DT shifters will work, but don't get ham-handed on those bosses. They are not welded to the frame if it's aluminum, but are part of an assembly that bolts "across" the DT. If the actual assembly comes loose, you have to be careful with it.
I like the trip triangle frames, too. You can really polish the alumimum up, and even though it kind of gets a bit hazy after a short time, I think it's really cool and unique material to be riding around on.

finished product...............
MAN!!! I don't think I'll ever get through polishing!!! But I love the look!!
I know, I know....the stem sucks; but I want to be sure of the height before I spring for a good Nitto. I have to ride very upright due to nerve damage in my hands. I considered a flat bar; but I just don't like the look.
I am very impressed with the ride too....I had a Cannondale road bike that was your stereotypical harsh aluminum ride; but I get very little of that with this bike. I have changed my riding position a lot since that bike though.
Opinions please.....

I have a "force" that I ride as a commuter. I love GT road bikes, and am kicking myself because a titanium Edge went on eBay for a couple hundred recently.
Good grab, well worth the investment.
