Tiny bikes?

Out of desperation Im posting to see if anyone knows of a tiny bike out there FS somewhere.
My wife and I have been searching for something cool for a long time that will fit her.
Needing something with a 50cm top tube at most. 49 or 50.
Just lost a perfect fitting bike on yahoo japan auctions.
Twas an amazing 3rensho in that exact size with tri color components and in excellent shape. :(
Hoping someone knows of something out there somewhere. Not looking to get something hideous and modern. :D

Thanks

We've got a Mike Appel as the shop, it's a 50 I think; and IIRC a Trek 850 in what I remember as being a 48.

2k for the appel
250 for the Trek (bare frame&fork)

I have a Ficelle frame and fork out in the barn about a 48-50cm. Nervex lugs, some sort of Vitus tubing, stamped dropouts w/o RD hanger, and scruffy white paint. And it's French. I was saving it for East Hill, but she's gone......

Thanks for the offers.
Looking for something a lil' nicer. :)
But no more than a grand.

Here is a beauty...
FS: SEROTTA CLASSIQUE size: 48cm (with picture links)

I have a 46cm specialized allez frame with a 51cm top tube. It's a 1993 I think. The frame is lugged, the fork is tig welded.
Pm me if you're interested.

Perfect.

Okay nevermind my frame offer, get that Faggin, that is way better!

shopgirl 05-30-11 11:41 PM

It does always strike me how a lot of smaller bikes have such funny-looking proportions. Classic handlebars with deep drops look odd on frames smaller than about 52cm to me.

What happened to East Hill?

Thanks for the links.
Ive contacted the Faggin owner and waiting to show the Serotta to the wife since she'll be the rider.

All my bikes are 50cm and under. They are hard to find but sometimes, they are the best bargains!

kroozer 05-31-11 12:57 PM

Some of the really small road bikes have 26" or even 24" front wheels. Check out Terry.

ColonelJLloyd 05-31-11 01:28 PM

My LBS has a Terry with a 700c rear and 24" front. It's very small. Light blue in color. Probably saw very few miles. I'd guess somewhere around 47cm seat tube. It has pretty nice components and a triple up front. Send me an email if you'd like me to find out more.

Still looking for something. :(

Dynocoaster 06-12-11 08:26 AM

These are cool, I have the 53cm and I am 5'8" and it is a great riding bike. I have changed out several components. http://www.bikesdirect.com/products/mercier/nano.htm

Dynocoaster 06-12-11 08:28 AM

These are a bit over a $1000 but nice http://www.bikemania.biz/ProductDeta...a_MiniVeloBike

deathhare 06-12-11 09:21 AM

Id rather sell all bikes than have her ride one of those.

steppinthefunk 06-12-11 10:05 AM

Here is a Basso that might be worth looking into. The description says its a 49/53 frame w/ 650c tires. If those numbers are correct then it looks like it might have a 49cm top tube 53cm seat tube. The headtube looks way too long to have a 49cm seat tube even with 650c.

I know I see things on the local Madison CL somewhat often in smaller sizes ~50cm or so. Keep an eye out there and if you see something and contact the seller and things seem good, let me know and I could go check it out for you and get it shipped or whatever you need.

deathhare 06-12-11 10:13 AM

Thanks...ill check that out.

toytech 06-12-11 10:24 AM

I have a Miyata 1200 that is 49cm ctc seat tube by 52cm ctc top tube. I don't know if it is small enough but I would let it go for 450.00 + shipping if you are interested.
