Panasonic Sport 500
Here is a Panasonic Sport 500. I sold these in 1978 and 1979, and I think it's from that era. This one is in perfect running order and bad cosmetic shape. I sold it today, and the buy said it looks beautiful. He was the second to test ride it. The first guy fell in love with it, but he was 6'4" tall (193 cm), so it was too small for him. This bike fits its new owner well.
It's a bottom of the line bike, but first, it's a well designed bike and very well made. It has the original tires in excellent condition. They're made by Panasonic! (Also known as Panaracer, National, and other names). I think the tires had a lot to do with it. I look at this bike, and I would never own one, because it's heavy, has low end components and steel rims. But I'll be darned if it doesn't ride really well.
The guy is pleased beyond words, and he said so. He's a local college student. He heard about me because I sold another Sport 500, a ladies model, to a colleague a few months ago.
