a quick pic of my just built Somec

I will take more and hopefully better pictures later, but her is my Somec, chromovelato finish and Columbus SL frame set finally built up to test ride. I am going to ride it a while as is before deciding whether to send it off to the chrome platers, just the fork (chrome on fork is toast, chain stays each have non structural small dents) or leave it as is as a super commuter . It is built up with Athena, aside from the hubs, bottom bracket, headset and seat post that are Chorus, and ca Centaur crank set and calipers. (I am to old for a 42 in the front, and I like stopping)
The rims are even Campy Omega's.

Count me in!

Love it.

More pics, and they should be quite large.

Nice landscaping/ gardening project as well.

WOW just took it out for the maiden voyage and I have never ridden a bike that invites bigger gears like this one! I took my normal test loop, a mostly flat ride for working out bugs and the Somec wants about 2 gears higher than any other bike I own for any given speed! This thing flat out rips. I don't even want to ride my RB-2 any more now

I´m not a campa man myself, but you´ve got it all together in your upgrade. The crank set spot on I think. Nice looking bike!

I would of used the original Athena crankset, but I need a 39t small ring for my fat self and I have multiple Centaur/Daytona and a Chorus crank set laying around. at some point I will have at least the fork re plated and 10 speed campy goes on. It does not show in the picture but the chrome on the front of the forks is gone.
