At a rough guess I would say a mid 90's bike. In the description the guy says that it's a 55cm (22") seat tube. I would also guess that he's measured from the centre of the crank axle to the top of the top tube measured along the seat tube (centre to top). This may make a difference to a prospective buyer.

The Bianchi is an 'economy' model. The frame is not the best quality steel but is still quite reasonable and the groupset is, again, not top of the range but a few groupsets below the best yet it is still a good groupset.

The price, so far is very good. It looks like a good buy but I would only go to a $150 - $200 depending on how much you want a Bianchi.

The bike is equipped more or less just like my Campione de Italia. I doubt that bike is a 55cm. It appears to be around a 50-52. That would be my guess.

The only thing that I have to gripe about on this bike is that the Mirage components can no longer be rebuilt. This was before the parallelogram change and if you want to replace the derailleur it would have to be a pre parallelogram change 9 speed one. Otherwise the shifters go to waste. The cassette is another item that you cannot replace with a newer one as the hub free body design changed the size of the teeth that the cassette attaches too.

The only thing that you can still buy for the shifters are the springs and even that is kinda hard to find. There is a certain cheap feeling to the plastic shifters but they have not failed me and are original to the bike.

Personally I wouldn't feel comfortable buying this bike unless you get it below 200. The seller doesn't know enough about the bike to make me feel comfortable about purchasing.

Also, that is a nineties frame. I'm pretty sure on that.

Patience is a virtue, for sure. But if patience isn't the OP's thing, then he/she should just go find a nice old bicycle. It is not all that hard to do, no matter where you live, except Antarctica.

I found this lovely old Bianchi Rekord 848 in a back lane for twenty bucks, and this Bianchi 849d for $60.00, and one of these Bianchi Sprints for free, and...

And this does not include the many Asian Bianchi bicycles I have found. It really is not that hard to do if you put a bit of time in.

I've been looking for the past 5yrs and not found one. Resale shops, garage/yard sales, dropping hints to non-biking friends, CL (they all want to get rich on one bike), newspaper......only Ebay I've not tried.

I want an old Bianchi with some heritage to it....not japanese or japanese componentry/groups. The 848 with Campy grouping is what I'm after. I still dream of finding one in the back of a warehouse or barn.

Me too! That is the one Bianchi I have sold that I wish I hadn't. Stupid me! Figured I would find another one and have done so but none were nearly as nice.
