Help needed with recognizing this SISU bike

Could someone help me recognizing what bike is it? I would love to restore it, but then I have to know which details are originals and which not. In front it has emblem with lion (smth like Peugeot cars) and above written "SISU". It could be from Sweden or Finland (SISU in Finnish means "have guts"). Also I found that the bike originally has been orange (visible inside the frame). It has Nokian front tyre, which could be original and road-bike type steering wheel. I have suspicion that at some point of time it was with more than one gear (the hub may have been changed).

The word is Finnish as you state, but I could not find any Finnish bike with that name. One or two Swedish bikes, though I couldn't see a match to the emblem yours has:

The emblem certainly looks like the Finnish State lion, but then again lion is a common theme in Nordic emblems. The Nokian tyre is definitely Finnish. Is there any other text anywhere in the frame?

It is a Finnish bike, manufactured by Helkama. I think they have used the SISU name on many different bicycles and mopeds.
The chainguard is Swedish, though, taken from a Mustang.

There is a contact page on this site. They would be able to tell you more about the Sisu. It's in Finnish, but

Contact...you can probably write in English:

Send them a pic!

3speedslow, your Finnish is on par with mine! This Sisu bike is interesting, I looked into Finnish bikes and found there was 15 pages of bike manufacturers and makes listed....I didn't count how many, but it was in the hundreds. Seemed like just about every town had one...well not really, but close anyway. I was fairly sure that I'd seen one of these as a kid in the 60's....we were big on the different makes then. I had a Finnish bike make called "Jupiteri" myself, loved that bike, it was a three speed and probably a bit big for me at first, I could bearly reach the pedals. But, back to the Sisu, it seems you won't find much using English so I "googled" using Finnish "vanhat suomalaiset polkupyörät" which means "old finnish bicycles". The Sisu was listed as being manufactured in the 1960's by Helkama, as mentioned previously by ragnar. Marc I hope you restore her it could be fun! As far as the color, I've been told that primer was often any color available, so the orange could be the primer coat.

Marc, the reason I think you should send some pics is that the lists are not complete and some how the badge looks design wise to be older to me than the 60's...may be the 50's, but look into it's a puzzle!
