I found it on eBay, the item was "Profile Handlebar Tape White with Black Skulls NOS" - seems the seller has a few left. The stickyness was pretty much gone on the adhesive but it wrapped OK regardless.

My 1994 RB-T:

I had bought it for less than $500 when Bridgestone was leaving the US market. Had many good miles on it, always intended to upgrade it but never got around to doing it until now.

It had been languishing in my garage unridden for about ten years, so I took it out and rebuilt it. For the money I sank into it I could have been well on my way to a Salsa Vaya but I don't regret it (I may still get the Salsa ).

The only original parts are the seatpost and handlebars. Nitto stem, Velo Orange headset, seat off my wife's Globe Haul, rack from a friend, Tektro and Avid V-brakes I had laying around, 9 speed mostly Shimano drivetrain (Ultegra hubs and Velocity Synergy rims built up by Peter White, LX casette, XT rear derailleur, IRD compact road triple front derailleur, Dura Ace bar ends, Sugino cranks).

My only real issue was that the front brake bosses are so close together, it was a real hassle getting the Avid V-brakes set up in the front, everything ended up OK once I found the Kool Stop thinline brake pads. It's now my commuter.

If you are near the ocean the Submariner is a good choice. Does it have the quill seat post?

Not mine anymore but I did have your twin for a while.

I love their head badge .

Just bought this 1986 (?) from my neighbor. Love it.

Looking for a softer saddle though. Any ideas?

TIA

Any idea what model that is? I can post a better photo here once I get it cleaned up and figure out the model!

EDIT: Did some Google searches using all kinds of possible letter combinations (see photo #3), and it looks like it's a Bridgestone Carmel, heavily modified.

Not really. That was their sales pitch and it didn't work. The stays and fork are high tension steel. The frame is very heavy. They all have quill seat posts.

he headbadge is the best thing about them.

I just picked this up today and too it straight of a 20% grade it went very well and This is now my daily ride

Say what?

My lowly 1987, 550 Bridgestone, picked up off of CList after it languished a couple months, the seller wanted about $200, then added or Gold or Silver in trade. I had a cache of Kennedy .50s in my closet not doing anything, so I got it for $17.50 in 1965-1970 (40% silver) Kennedys. Not too bad of shape, but some rust..FLORIDA! Seatpost took 10 days to break loose. Patience.

Just picked up this 1987 MB-2 in the rough.
Actually in very good shape. Now to plan the build. I'm thinking Jamaican National Team theme.

My RB-T, purchased as a frameset with lots of original parts from a forumite:

It's a terrific rider and saw a good deal of my mileage last year.
