SA 3 Speed Cable Question

I've done some searches and I'm probably not doing it right soooooooo............I need to install a missing fulcrum sleeve on the downtube cable stop. I have managed to remove the cable end from the shifter pod by sliding it back and forth a bit. It has one of those cable end thingamajigs crimped to it and I am unsure of how to properly re-install the cable into the pod. Any help and/or visuals would be much appreciated.

It's funny how different manufacturers = different systems = different designs = different terminology. Before the Sturmey Archer experts can help you, you have to learn to speak Sturmey Archer! Pod? That term isn't in the Sturmey Archer lexicon! I guess you mean the trigger; but I'll let you peruse Tony Hadland's site before going into it further. Fulcrum sleeve, that's good Sturmey-speak; but to put a new fulcrum sleeve into your fulcrum clip, you don't need to remove the cable from the trigger. So I'm confused.

So tell you what: if the Hadland site doesn't answer your question, rephrase it and we'll try again. Good luck!

Butchering proper terminology has become my lifes work........please bear with me.

Before taking this one apart I looked at an old Western Flyer 3 speed I have hanging around. It's fulcrum sleeve appears to be a rubber sleeve that requires the cable to pass thru, as opposed to the side opening on the plastic and steel sleeves.

Installing a 3 speed cable is something I've been curious about for some time now, therefore deciding to "practice" on this one. I am still waiting for my fulcrum sleeve to arrive in the mail. The Hadland site description looks pretty cut and dried. I will give that a try and see how it goes.
