Rene Herse Cranks Back in Production

I think these look great. I am sure they cost quite a bit.

Probably in the same price range with the new production TA Cyclotouristes: $439 a pair. For JUST THE ARMS!!! Sheesh...

Looks very nice, but I think I'd only want it on exactly the right bike, which would be a Herse, which would probably already have them. Or am I overthinking this?

While some would probably go on vintage Herses (which may or may not have had them in the first place), the target market is most likely buyers of new Nobilette-built Herses, or other boutique custom rando bikes.

Hmmm, I'd go for one if not too spendy...

Which one: the crankset or the bike?

Oh, right. That should'a been obvious to me! Duh.

Pretty dang cool! I'd venture to say they will cost even more than the new production T.A. chainset. IMHO: I'd only use them on a Herse (new or old), so I suppose if one was to find a vintage Herse frameset, this chainset might be well worth the cost.

Cheers,
Chris

They are interesting, missing a feature or two that I liked but probably did not add to their function.... I hope the price point is below the TA cranks, the TA cranks pricing might have made this project just that much more urgent.

With the IRD, V/O and Electra units now out, it probably provides a price floor.
These will be more, the trick is to price them to have decent volumes. Mike Kone's blog had a good quick overview of the Herse cranks through time...
I would like to see polished Chrome fixing nuts too....

Didn't see a price, but I would eat peanut butter for a month if it meant I could mount them on my VeloSoleX. I think they'e beautiful, but I have kind of a thing for 3-pin cranks.
