I jumped on the CL add for it in NH but, sadly, some one else jumped quicker and harder. Was it one of you guys? I sure hope that she went to a good home.

I acquired a 1989 Touraine a couple of months ago. It's a pretty interesting bike with internally routed wiring and integrated racks - and, so far as I've been able to determine, was never exported outside France (i.e., it was a French-specific model.) The details surrounding this model, a "semi-course randonnee," are pretty sparse, but I've managed to pull together quite a bit of information if anyone is interested. I've also exchanged several messages with a collector in Europe who has several semi-course (or demi-course, depending upon which year's French Peugeot catalog you reference) randonnee bikes. The one I have is in near perfect condition and looks like it was seldom ridden:

Ha! Made me walk clear out to the studio to check and see. The wheels are engraved "Rigida Chromage Superchromix" and "28 x 1 5/8 x 1 1/4 700C" - I totally missed this... good catch!

That reminds me a lot of an apparently French market 1989 Peugeot mixte I saw on CL from Laramie WY last August, it might have been a Touraine. I forget if it had drops or conventional bars, but the rest of the equipment was very similar or identical. Interesting detail, the wheels were 28", what about yours, AZORCH? Very nice frame geo, BTW

I'm not sure yet what I'll do with the one I've got. Maybe save it for a "beret and baguette" ride, I guess.

Your's looks too nice for the kind of hard use I would give it but if I came across a similar one that was down on its luck I would totally put it into regular commuting service with the rest of my rota.
