SunTour downtube shifters, help in putting together
1 Attachment(s)
Hi!
I just got an set of old SunTour downtube shifters i plan to use on my road frame with downtube bosses. But i dont know how to put the things together. And if the shifter set is complete. Anyone can have a look on the picture, and maybe can tell me in what order i shall mount the parts? Or if the set is complete? Tnks! |
Working from the mouting boss outward, try this sequence:
1) backing plate (large square cutout); 2) lever; 3) round washer; 4) washer with flat-sided hole; 5) domed spring-loaded washer; 6) cover plate; 7) bolt |
Thanks John, I have a set to assemble too. Kinda felt goofy as I didn't pay attention when I removed them...

Thanks John! Its awesome to get response on those old equipment problems!

Good info, it helped me sort out my Suntour shifters.

If you have Cyclone shifters, it is:
1) backing plate (large square cutout); 2) thin dished washer; 3) lever; 4) thin flat washer; 5) retainer/washer; 6) domed spring-loaded washer, saw toothed edge; 7) threaded cover plate; |
