This looks like it would do the job, might have to order one for the sake of the bike not looking like a hack job ;)

^ Is that designed to act as a sort of slap guard as well? Neat.

I dig it. But I like road/hybrids turned CX. After all, that's how CX began.

No true Scotsman would ride a French bike.

Kinda reminds me of my Motobecane Mirage all weather commuter.
http://i636.photobucket.com/albums/u...g?t=1311412547 I actually did my first cross race on this bike setup as a SS(it's fixed right now) took the fenders off, and dropped down the gearing. |
Now I am kicking myself for not going after that Criss Cross that was on CL here a couple weeks ago. I didn't even consider stripping the parts to build a Cyclocross bike or touring bike.

Come to think of it.....your Monsterbecane reminds me of the old demo derby days where guys showed up with these classic cars like the 55-57 Chevies.

Love it!
For while now I've been wanting to do a Monster'cross bike like this with a crappy Giant made Schwinn World Sport I have. Yours has definately motivated me. Great work. |
Fun build. :thumb: Looking forward to seeing the finished product.

Hey mazdaspeed - I've used cloth from a tshirt as handlebar wrap before and it worked well. I wrapped the handlebars first with double-sided foam tape that you can get at Office Depot or wherever. Cut strips of tape and wrap them around the bars. Then cut strips of cloth and wrap it over the foam tape. Finish with electrical tape or your preferred finishing substance.
