Serial Number Question

Hi All,

Just picked a bike off ebay. It is unbranded and has no tubing stickers. I've searched hi and lo for a serial number, but can't seem to find one. Do all bikes have them? Or are there uncommon places some manufacturers put them? Thanks

Bottom bracket, left rear drop out, right rear drop out, side of seat tube, top of bottom bracket, front of head tube, underside of down tube, chain stays, rear of seat tube...
