Except for the fork, that looks pretty identical to my '87 Sirrus frame.

Fork makes it post '89. 89 was the first year of the unicrown fork. I'd wager a guess that someone had a sirrus chromed or it was made up for someone at Specialized. Or maybe for a trade show..

Is that a dent in the right stay or am I seeing a weird reflection?

redtires 07-24-11 08:08 PM

That is a "dent" but it's there on purpose for chainring clearance. It's pretty common on lot's of mass produced bikes.

Rear dropouts look to have some eyelets....did the Sirrus come with eyelets?...I've got one but no eyelets anywhere.

RobE30 07-24-11 08:32 PM

Size? I'm guessing 56cm or so. That thing is cool

I can see how the last picture might create that illusion, but those look exactly like mine and there are no eyelets.

EDIT: Nevermind, I see them now.

Now that you mention it that would push it to '90 or later. '87-'89 were pure racing machines.

It has rear eyelets. Takes a 27mm post.
