I went out to Cape Cod for work yesterday and had a chance to watch batting practice for the Hyannis Harbor Hawks, part of the Cape Cod Baseball League. The Cape Cod Baseball League is kind of a pseudo minor league/collegiate level. Many players go on to play MLB. I couldn't stay for the game, but here a couple of bp shots from McKeon Park. Looks like a high school field!

I wish I could have stayed for the game. Admission was free and the opposing team's bus arrived about 10 minutes before I left. They beat the Bourne Braves 2-1.

The Cape Cod league is really cool in how it's set up, too. I've had a few friends take part in the league. One of my buds actually just left after a minor injury forced Vandy to send him back home for the summer.

Nice! I'd love to catch some Cape Cod League games...where you can watch top collegiate prospects without the annoying ping of metal bats.

Our fine crop of Chief Petty Officer Selectees the day they got the best news of their lives:

The one in the middle is my guy (assigned to us at NCTS; the others came from the Support Facility tenant commands) and is the senior Selectee. He's going to get a lot of extra love between now and September 16th
