I was asking Aaron if he's on vacation. He's a bike rat local to me.

The ex's (loaner) Atala, originally outfitted with Super Record, then updated to Ergo Chorus, then stripped and sold off piece-by-piece (she wanted to go with a different type of bike, but we got around to divorce before she could decide upon a replacement):

Frame was restored by Ebay member Omaroasis - he used to paint frames for Alpine Cycles in DC back in the day. I restored the headbadge by hand starting with a decrepit, paint-free example I scored on Ebay.

Moving Joel's Bike Shop from the barn (semi-unheated) to the cellar (next to the boiler)
Got a nice bin-holder from my bro-in-law (the gray plate)

I've actually managed to keep my tools pretty organized, which is not like me at all.

Tunes come from the vintage Sony table-top radio... nice tone!

Have any links to that trail or that other one? Kind of hard to get to from Wisconsin, but might be an option next time I'm out that way visiting relatives. Go ride, post a link and pics when you get back.

Stopped by my LBS yesterday on my ride.

The owner and shop dog were closing up for the day.

Bird on Wheel
Interesting thread here.
Seeing the bird in an earlier post reminded me of this pic I took about 6 weeks ago.
We were at the bike shop with a friend who had wanted to buy a new bike.
After an hour and a half looking the selections over and test riding quite a few
she bought a bike and we went out to mount up and go for a ride in the 103 degree Texas heat.
There was a little bird perched on my rear wheel that had evidently been just learning to fly and had landed on my wheel. We waited for a few minutes and finally it took off haltingly flying away.

My Bike with Jumbo
Here's a pic of my bike with Jumbo from about 2 weeks ago on a ride. The statue is located at Fair Park in Dallas,TX, the site of the Great State Fair of Texas which starts next month. Can't wait to ride down there (about 16 miles) when it opens to justify the calories of eating a Fletcher's corny dog, perhaps a candy apply and some other fried treats.
Check Wikipedia if not familiar with this remarkable elephant's story.
Sort of dwarfs my 60cm bike.
Have not caught on with how to post a larger pic, only the clickable thumbnail size.
