I had wondered if Patrick Dougherty, the artist behind the installation, had influenced the fort in "Where the Wild Things Are." All I could find on it was an article in the LA Times saying that the inspiration came from nature and the artistry of Maurice Sendak.

Thanks for the info. It was a few locals who mentioned the "WTWTA" link. You know how rumors are. I haven't even seen the movie. Love the book, though.

You need to have them hosted at another site like Photobucket or Flicker. Then use the Go Advanced option instead of the quick reply.

The "Go Advanced" option isn't necessary. But, yes, host your photos somewhere on the net.

You could have gotten away with saying that the color was from the wildfires....

If you click on the small pic, it gets bigger. Copy the location of the big image, then use the Insert Image icon in the editor window, http://www.bikeforums.net/images/editor/insertimage.png and paste the pic address in the little window that pops up:

photobucket is often way too slow. There's another slow one, whose name I can't remember. And the ads and crap are really annoying.

I like flickr and picasaweb best. I had to add storage to my google account. It was something like $5/year to add 20 GB, so now I have 27 GB in total, and I can use the space for email, photos, documents, spreadsheets, etc.

imgur.com is fast cheap free and easy

picasa - i have the $5 a year thing Tom mentioned. Much better than flickr IMO, which I've also had.

Yep. That's the place. I love to cycle all over Dallas with my camera taking pics of interest to me.
All these decades later every time I ride by the School Book Depository , Triple Overpass,
Grassy Knoll, Dealey Plaza area there are always folks there checking it out.
There is now the 'Sixth Floor Museum, on the upper floors that is a big attraction.
I have been there a couple of times with out of town guests and it is well done and interesting.

I have actually passed it on to a good friend and riding buddy.

We are hoping to hop the train to Ft Worth one day over the next several weeks with our bikes and ride some of the great Ft Worth trails. If you would like to see it in person we can give you a shout.

I see it is labeled as a 1974 catalog. I thought the fellow said 1974. Either way the it looks identical and parts matched up. Came with tubulars.

We've done the same, going to Dallas. We've cycled around White Rock Lake and up the trail to 635. If I'm available I'd love to ride with you. If I can't make it I can at least recommend some routes. The Stockyards is a very easy ride from downtown, and there are at least 3 bike-friendly ways to get there and back (the Trinity Trails, Main Street and Samuels Ave.)
