EDIT Bwhahahaha
I stuck "59 Chevy" in Google and here is a full set of pictures of the car in the background. Nice restore.

Urban ride by local bicycling advocacy group, ConsiderBiking. Regular people who bike in the city. They were more like the people I rode with in the 70s than the current crop of lycra-clad racer wannabees. Several people seemed impressed by my Bob Jackson. Funny, in the late 80s though the early 2000s, people would tell me I needed to upgrade when I rode a C&V bike on a club ride.

Our destination was Franklinton Cycle Works, a charitable organization that refurbishes bicycles and sells them cheap or in return for volunteer work to people in need. I have my eye on a Trek 520 frame they have. Plan to donate a box of parts, and I hope to find the time to volunteer as a mechanic.

Preparing for the ride home after being fed pulled pork sandwiches and mac and cheese.

On the way home, one of the ride leaders documents new installations of bike racks--here I am by the rack. Nice rack!

My friend runs a bike scavenger hunt "The Urban Bike Adventure" and has races around the country. He's based in Tampa, and wanted to do a demo video, so I brought out a few bikes and we went about town filming.

Moved some shelves to my studio today! Really need a trailer...

I didn't ride it, because I wouldn't have been able to turn right. But at least I didn't have to walk the 2 miles from work carrying MDO

Valentines Day is more than a month away, but the sign was cute - and our bikes looked nice together underneath it! From Sunday's ride....

Got a ride in here at Stepford, Florida (vacation). It was about 75 degrees F.

OK, its not really Stepford, but its pretty close. Please ignore the cheap platform pedals, my 600 tricolors failed on this trip, so I bought these to get back on the road.

Heading back to the mountains of NC in the morning.

I stumbled across this one the other day. At a N. California mountain bike race, in 1981. I rode a two speed kickback that a friend lent me, and finished dead last, but had a great time doing so. I'm the handsome one on the left end.

Every one likes a good bike light, right?

Road side reflectors are spaced 100m.

I took my 1956 Hercules Royal Prince for a shakedown run today after stripping it to the frame and reassembling it piece by piece.

^ This is understated elegance at its finest. Nice...

I'm thinking I will need to add a 3-speed to my lineup someday. If it ends up looking like this, I'll have did good

Think of how many holes you could drill into that chain guard! (kidding)

I would always romanticize about 3 speeds (and still do) but I've had my nearly pristine 60's Raleigh Sports for 2 years now and have less than 10 miles on it... It just sits in my bike room looking pretty wearing a brand spanking new honey B66. I bring it to the Cape when we go in the summer and ride the 1/4 mile to the market but that's about it...
