Descending out of a curve at 30mph, to this: hold those bars tight. It worked before.

I like that red tape on your bike, it adds a little something to the look.
I get about one flat a month and it always seems to be on the day that i didn't bring a patch kit and pump.

Thanks, that is Fizik Microtex. I've had some bad luck with flats lately, 4 flats in 6 days. The picture above was my second flat that day. The flats have been on different bikes, so it's probably just bad luck.

Presidents Day weekend camping trip with the kids. 7:30 am, 19 degrees. Trying to blow life into last nights embers. Needless to say, we had the campground to ourselves.

This is what it looked like the afternoon before:

But, being Utah, it mostly melted by mid-morning:

..and eventually we made to our destination above some local river:

there is a lot to be jealous about in those pics. Btw, is that tent made by Bibler?

Oh wow! I just browsed your site, very impressive stuff! A long while back I bought a Gibson, which is nice... now I wish I had sought out something a little more unique like these.

We rode Saturday and Sunday last weekend, and our group of six had eight flats in two days.

Every type/brand of tire imaginable.

Late winter here in the prairie is notoriously hard on tires.

Too much road debris until they clean the streets, or spring rains arrive.

I gave up and put on Gatorskins, so you know I am desperate.

I reckon you getter have a really good aim to keep the front wheel on the strip that goes down the middle!

A project I did just to see if it would work. Used it once to get a 12 pack, worked great

As some of you know I recently moved to California from the east coast. I'm living in Los Gatos right now. This morning I got a chance to ride out of town up into the Santa Cruz Mountains. The plan was to ride to the coast but that didnt happen because of some time restrictions. Anyway, I took the only road bike i have with me right now which is a 650b 38mm tired Raleigh portage. Turned out that was an excellent choice.

had to grab a bite first

then it was out of town which is at the foothills of the mountains. the paved bike trail turns into this quickly

first ya gotta go under an overpass

this was an accident but i think the pic is kinda cool

to be continued...

anyway, the fat tires were perfect for this

and this climb which is done no justice by this pic
