Bike to Work Day here in CA. Great vibe from all the stations that setup near the bike lanes and volunteers out having fun with the cyclist stopping or passing by.

I've got to worry more about fruit rats. They cleaned me out last season.

Up at the lake for the weekend. If you're going to punish yourself with hill repeats, you might as well treat yourself to a nice view.

Plant winter squash around the corn plants. If it's anything like raccoons, they don't like to walk on the leaves.

Great suggestion thanks! That's new info for me.
I've been meaning to do a "three sisters" planting of corn, squash and beans. I hear it's an old Native American method

New project I am hoping to complete today for tomorrow morning's commute. Kind of a city bike build.

Finished building up my new commuter. Snapped this pic on the first ride, which was on the way to work. Kind of risky doing a shakedown ride when you have to be at work soon, so I'm glad to report it performed flawlessly. :-)

Literally minutes after hanging three Boston ferns on my front porch a few weeks ago a bird started making a nest in one. Here's a shot from earlier this week:

And these are from yesterday.
