Rescued this prehistoric beast from a busy road... She didn't appreciate it. I wish I had something in the pic for scale, it was huge.

Interesting ride home from the vet with 30+ lbs of cat food on the rack and in the pannier...

1) Snapping turtles are gnarly, inappreciative creatures. I've never seen one even crack a smile.

2) You're a better man than I. I recently carried 9 kilos of pet food (twice) in a 5 gallon bucket bungeed to my rack. It's not something I want to do often.

I've seen turtles create smiles, normally when made into soup .

It is a beautiful place to live. A few years ago you wouldn't have heard that from me, but the area I am in (St. Petersburg) is really becoming a wonderful city with a lot to offer AND you can cycle year round!

The second picture was taken as we raced along the trail with the deer running along side us.

She likes her scruffy guy a great deal and we stopped by the pet shop where I volunteer and where she came from... it is a relaxing environment for her to be in and she got to see some of her favourite people.

It is a warm day here but wore the jacket in case she wanted to hide out... she likes to crawl inside and nuzzle by my neck.

It was a rare wet commute here in Silicon Valley today. Sometimes I miss the rain, so this made me happy, see?

I'm smiling with my eyes.

Luckily for me my Riven- err- Lotus was up to the task.

Then, I rounded a bend going under a bridge at about 18 mph and saw this.

Did I mention my wet brakes werent working very well? That pic was taken after I'd gone through it, so I survived.

Nice Zullo that was there too.

took a wrong turn, ended on a flint covered road, a few hundred meters of climbing, some very steep grades. Slippery mud and loose sharp stones. Still, my hard-as-nails roadie with skinny tyres and knee breaker gears managed fine.
