snarkypup, I just sold my 22T sprocket. I'm going to buy a 24T! While I wait for it, I'm back to riding the 18T. Ick.
Here is our butterfly bush and an invited visitor. https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-Q...s800/photo.JPG |

Abarth, I can't believe he stayed still for 30 miles. You two must have been cruising! The wee boy and I did 4 miles today, and he was fussy and hot and had to pee three-quarters of a mile in.
http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=212573 He loves smoothie at South Prairie trail head, plus he knows if he fall off the bike at 16mph it will hurt really bad. :thumb: Was your son riding by himself or on a trailer bike? |
Some stuff I was drilling on this afternoon:

old girl in foster care. Lewis & Clark donated all the parts, cables, pedals, and a wheel tuneup. Walmart is throwing in a bell and helmet. It is being done to the highest standards. All bearings cleaned and packed with marine grease. And, cost is not a factor...... It is pink! |

He rides his own bike, now that he has one with gears. The most he's done is about nine miles, which isn't too bad for a seven year-old. I hear tales from other moms of kids his age doing 10-12 miles or more, but I think there's some bragging going on there. My kid's normal size for his age, and very patient with an exceptionally long attention span, and that's too far for him. Going about six seems his best milage. I suppose there are some big seven year-olds who can muscle along for longer rides, but he just loses steam. Here he is with his steed, a cheap-o BMX-ish thing from Performance Bike that he thinks is the bee's knees: http://rideblog.files.wordpress.com/...12011ride5.jpg One of these days, I'll get that seat up all the way. I'm doing a bit at time until he gets used to it. I raised it about a half inch yesterday, so it's higher than you see here, though not by much. |

I can see why a 22 or 24 would be wonderful for hills. This is why the new bike I'm building up slowly will have more speeds. Then I can have the best of both worlds: a lower gear for hills, and that higher gear for flats. I've become quite a serious hill climber, though, with that 20t. I should go out for an alpine stage... |

1971 Toyota Landcruiser. Not mine, Its my fathers. I was just using it while we painted the roof of my van and did some meck work on it. Never liked four wheeling, Probably cause I was a baby in the back of this thing when it was crawled around in the So Cal mountains. But it is nice to be the only rig in the valley that gets out in the snow. Lost the original six at 280K in the middle of the desert pulling a trailer on the interstate. IT has a 350, power steering(that needs replacing)and a tilt/telescope steering wheel out of an old caddy.

Thanks, my dog ( Lacey) is a 100% bundle of energy and can play 24/7 but she is the most head strong dog I have ever owned so I call her Pigle my Pitbull Beagle lol. My Bronco really looks better in person then in photos it is that nice, Original low mileage truck when I bought it 5yrs ago and still only showing 90,000 it's a 1993 w/351 & loaded.
I'll toss in a pic of my pup to keep the dog theme going lol http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6132/...d3c06b64_b.jpg Jasper goes canoeing by (cobrabyte), on Flickr some modern art in Downtown St. Pete: http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6121/...b5b242c2_b.jpg Big Max by (cobrabyte), on Flickr and a little black racer snake I stumbled across when I was mowing the yard: http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6127/...99ff284f_b.jpg Black Racer Snake by (cobrabyte), on Flickr |
My bike this morning. It's on the top cog because I am trying to adjust the RD, it doesn't want to shift there, the shifter clicks and then clicks back down. It won't shift to that gear unless you hold hold it until it shifts. For the record the RD shifter is indexed, the FD shifter is not.

We just got back from dinner, and I took a few pics. We went to Plymouth, Ma down on the water to one of our favorite spots to get seafood.

Scozim, Roger M and I did a nice rolling ride of about 45 miles around Lake Stevens/Snohomish/Lake Roessinger today. My climbing was pathetic compared to those two; Scott has some serious fast-twitch muscle and Roger just spins away. I sweated on the back - but I was able to hang it out on the downhills so we kept together. Temps in the low 80s, not a cloud in the sky - and Roger picked a great route that took us through a lot of shady rollers.
Roger (L) and Scott (R) on one of the climbs: http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6021/...3b5ab2b5_b.jpg Scott on the Centennial Trail with Mount Baker in the distance: http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6007/...df1b80c4_b.jpg Lake Stevens: http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6003/...9f1cf800_b.jpg DD |
It was a good day for a ride. Thanks Scott and Jeff for the invite. I think Scott has a battery pack in his seat tube, along with an electric motor geared to the bottom bracket...
http://i241.photobucket.com/albums/f...t/IMG_5368.jpg As they say, pictures don't do justice. This is one pretty bike. Oh, and DD's bailout gear is what...42x17??.. http://i241.photobucket.com/albums/f...t/IMG_5365.jpg |
