Oh, and in the last few days I finished up the resurrection of this pair of Ergos for a C&Ver who had the misfortune to crash the Colnago that was wearing them. Since I had to remove the anodizing and clean up some heavy scraping on the levers, I decided to add a little drillium flair as well

Lever body clean-up was done with files and sanding sponges. I attempted to replicate the original black coating by laying down some Tamiya flat black acrylic followed by two coats of Krylon gloss black. I was pretty satisfied with the overall look once it was dry. I just hope this finish stands the test of time.

That is an Acorn roll bag. Acorn is known for top quality and notoriously hard to get. They make their products in batches and sell out instantly. You can sign up for notifications when they will be ready to sell. Here is their website: https://www.acornbags.com/rollbag.html

Thanks for the info!

I applied liquid masking stuff to the lugs of a bike I'm going to spray bomb soon. Once it sets up I'll trim it with an Exacto knife and peel away the areas to be painted.

I don't think they do it as marketing. They are a husband and wife team, it's just the two of them making each bag. I think that is probably the only way it can work unless they started hiring other people.

Whatever the reason, it's nice if you know in advance you'll be selling everything you make at the price you want. Many a business owner will be jealous. Good for them!

Bicycle Repair Man !!!
Thanks... sometimes my daughter sits still long enough for me to take pictures of her.

She punched me for taking this one later in the day (and I had been warned)... she has just met some hills here that can defeat her and in her defence, she was riding her Raleigh 20 3 speed on a route that would crush the souls of adults.

She punches really hard too.

Could you share about your frame prep process and name of product for masking?
Perhaps you already have on another thread and could share link?
Thanks.

Man, you and ColonelJLloyd know how to eat. I've never had starfruit, but it looks delicious. Tell us a little more about your fancy wheels. I hate working on wheels, but I seem to really treasure "fancy wheels", maybe because I seem to rarely come across them.
Oh, and I never ever post at work.....

You've probably all heard about the WA state wildfire - 60+ homes/structures lost overnight. It got within 5 miles or so of our house last night and could easily blow back up again with 20+ mph winds again. A couple of photos from last evening on my way home:
The ridge in the background with the houses is black today and miraculously most of the houses are still standing.

The sun behind the smoke about 5 miles from my house.

Random instagram photos.
the ride home 116 degrees I took a water break under the trees.

A fellow from out on the reservation came to pay his phone bill at our mobile pay station.

another older gentleman who also came to pay his phone bill. He rides his bike everywhere his niece said even to mass on sundays.

Starfruit is delicious, it's light and kind of citrus-y

My daughters teeth remind me of a hippo. She has two, the other is right below the top one.

There was a hardrive and some RAM stuffed into the head of this dinosaur. He's all memories, nothings there to turn the wheels.

Nice work!

I was pretty satisfied with the overall look once it was dry. I just hope this finish stands the test of time.

Unbelievable attention to detail.
They are certainly more interesting than the pre-crash versions as well.
Love your flair.
Trying to figure out an accent color, but in the meantime we are reinstalling them today or tomorrow.
I have zero worries about durability, as the bike doesn't get the lion's share of ride time here.
They'll look fresh like this for a very long time.
Although maybe that will change with these beauties on board.
We are adding some upgrades to the Colnago Elegant that these are going on and I am just waiting on some black Veloflex Corsas.
Received the Jagwire black braided "Racer" kit yesterday.
Can't wait and thanks again!
