Wild, right?! It's called a passion flower, I think. They grow a lot as vines on fences around here in Florida.
I have one in my back yard that is a different color with predominate white & purple colors. I have also seen red ones. The bees seem to love them. I occasionally capture a shot of a bee or two on them. Wish I had a sharper lens to get better clarity & sharpness in pics. Any economical camera recommendations in $200 range good for macro shots? Macro shots are great fun for me. In the spring the bees liked the Red Maple tree blooms & the broccoli plant blooms. I must have taken 120 shots or more on that Red Maple to get a couple of shots of bees in mid flight. Got to definitely have some patience for some shots. http://i793.photobucket.com/albums/y...ps226f040c.jpg http://i793.photobucket.com/albums/y...ps909c47fb.jpg http://i793.photobucket.com/albums/y...ps8872f075.jpg http://i793.photobucket.com/albums/y...ps2deb544f.jpg http://i793.photobucket.com/albums/y...psa8f94b4f.jpg http://i793.photobucket.com/albums/y...ps874b685a.jpg http://i793.photobucket.com/albums/y...ps9c1b8417.jpg |
Man I have to take a trip tomorrow morning to the nursery & find me one of those vines! Nice bee shots, my approach is shoot first, choose later. I prefer not to edit or crop so I just take tons of shots and sort through them. I'm using a Canon ELPH 300 HS as my point & shoot, but prefer my older Sony Cybershot for macro. I mainly just use my phone though. Lazy FTW

Disclosure: I had nothing to do with these pics. But if you like nice photos, take a look at these samples from the Nat'l Geographic photo contest. 50 absolutely amazing images. #50 even features a bike!

QUOTE] Thank you mkeller234. I really am fascinated my the 'small world' out there & even just in my own back yard. Hopefully one day I can get a camera / lens with better macro capabilities. Regards. |

Time to go out to play. By the time I got back to this point, I'd logged 45 miles. |
I want to post a video.
