I am running a studded front tyre on my Extrabike right now... it was already a very stable bike on snow and ice and then it got front wheel drive.

I don't know if I will need to put the studded tyre on the back at all this winter...

My dedicated winter bike has studded tyres on the front and rear.

Nice color coordination! I just picked up a cool old Kirtland handlebar bag, but it's in rough condition...

Just finished rebuilding this bike, took it out for a test ride, and came across this unique photo opportunity by chance.

I may soon be back in the (road) saddle again!
I picked up an unknown year Bianchi Premio fixer upper. A bit small, but might work...

Elkhide Toe Clip Leathers from Velo-orange.. Last night I sat up until 1:30 a.m. sewing these leather covers onto four sets of toe clips. Cool look. Starts out a little slow, but the directions are very well done and once I got the hang of it, it went pretty good. Still took me almost four hours to do the eight toe clips.
Ouch my fingers hurt.
I live a sheltered life, as I hadn't sewn anything since repairing flats on the sew-ups on my 1972 Gitane Tour DeFrance.. When it was new...
These are for my 1972 and 1973 Paramounts, my 1981 Super LeTour and my 1972 Sports Tourer

Me, too - but I'm still bringing the '78 Super for him to test-ride

WNG: I think we should meet up at your current place post-ride and grill up some steaks and drink some beer!

Wasn't the Schwinn Crosscut black with red lettering? Any Bianchi is a decent bike, I hope you can make the fit work.

^KvltBryce, your Look pedals sure look nice on the Bianchi.

^DD, I don't think the landlord would mind! I think steak is a post-ride requirement written somewhere.
I have a feeling I'm going to have Colnago fever after the test ride! And have to get one like Giacomo1.

Yes she was. I mourn the loss of my Crosscut. It was one of those special rides with a personal touch. I hope the Bianchi will work. I have 6 weeks till my 49 miles at 49 y.o. Planning to do it on a road bike.

Will, what date is that exactly? I'm pretty sure I'll be in town for that if I've got my figures correct - and I'd love to join you for that celebration ride.

Jan. 27th...it's a Sunday. If we can turn it into a group ride, it would be the best BD ever.

What're the chances of this? The 27th is the very day I have to report for my San Diego refresher-training; I'm driving from Phoenix to SD on the 26th with my mom.

Bummer...

Oh, well - we're in the process of getting a group ride or two together, so that's still cool; just unfortunate I won't be able to ride with you on the special day

Dang, Will! Too bad you weren't born on Jan 8th, like a certain Tucsonan *cough* then we could have a double-birthday group ride

We do need to pin down a date and meeting location though, so I can finish up the BF C&V AZ flyers! (and post the thread)
