OK, so where does it fit?
Recently bought a Miyata Alumitech 6500, posted pics and got lots of good advice as far as upgrading- thanks to all who know more than myself(which is just about everyone, but I'm catching on ) Been to the Catalog site and I'm trying to place where this fits into Miyata's heirarchy/line-up. Looks like 1987/88 was first production of the Alumitech frame, couple of years later was re-classed as the 718a,1100a,1400a and the Alumicross line - could be wrong on this, there is limited info on these 6000 series Alumitechs. Does anyone know where they fit into Miyata's regular line-up? Seems to me with components and frame that this might be a higher end for the late 80's Miyatas.
As always would love some input- starting to feel like the kids, only asking when I need something Thanks in advance!

it looks nice, what components are on it and why are you upgrading?

Thanks for the compliment on the bike- it is pretty nice. Not sure about the upgrading yet, just geting a few ideas is all. If I make it my primary rider it would be nice to have a few more gears in the mix, but as I get in better shape, I might not feel the need for them later. We'll see how it goes..... I go a little nuts in the winter without a project, there's still time to find other better ideas.

Oh yeah- components. Sorry- long night at work It's all 105, brakes, derailleurs, cranks, pedals- 12 speed, Biopace 52/42. Only changes made at this point is the tape and put a little comfier Selle Italia TriMatic on. Seatpost is Sakae CR 25.8(what an odd size), bars are Sakae Signature, Tange Levin CD headset.
