That made Julia (Mrs. Gomango) smile.
That's her Primato, not mine.
Her Primato is a repainted/rebadged TSX Nuovo Classico from a local racing shop.
They ordered the bikes from De Rosa in their team colors, and the original invoice just says De Rosa "racing" bikes.
They arrived with Primato decals.
All eight of these alleged Primatos were destined for local team racers, and at least four of them still exist.
In fact, I owned another one of them for two months last year until a riding buddy talked me out of it.
Julia's De Rosa frameset was never built up until I got my sweaty palms on it.
She wanted modern Campy (2009 Centaur/Record) as she used it to race in tris last summer.
BTW Marcello also snuck in a shot of my red Professional, and my John Hollands was also thrown in for good measure.
There isn't a day that goes by w/o taking a peak at Bikeadelic.
Folks, we know it isn't an EL-OS Primato, but she loves it just the same as I gave it to her on Valentine's Day a year ago.
Thanks for posting OFG!!!!!

Sighhhh...I wish I could just buy a bike for my wife's gifts, but she's trickier. She doesn't even like jewelry!

When we were first married 25 years ago, we were both in school working on our MAT degrees, and we were flat busted.
She wouldn't even let me buy her a diamond.
Still won't, but she gleefully accepted this De Rosa and her Felt B2 tri bike.

...and Keith you won't believe the mileage you get by gifting a De Rosa.

And she cooks
We feasted on Chicken Cordon Bleu last night, with home made peach pie. Dudes prone to over eating shouldn't marry great cooks!

Double whammy here though, Aaron.
My wife is also a wonderful baker and chef. French and Italian cooking mainly, with a hearty side order of traditional Bavarian cuisine.
My true downfall was her mother though.
I swear I could watch the pounds accumulating over the years from their delightful cooking prowess.
...and of course it has nothing to do with Belgian and German beer.

Picchio - YOU SOLD THAT?!?!? WHYYYYY???
The only valid explanation was to fund a kidney.
Does this guy just find photos of De Rosas?

I sold all my bikes that were worth over 1k when I had to move my collection out of the house and into the garage - '67 Cinelli, '71 Colnago, '68 Masi. I am determined to be a good steward.

I think he rides a Merak.
I intend to correspond with him about a ride next summer when we visit family in Germany.

The good price part seems to be the hang up around here lately.
Also Picchio, that was a neat write up about the acquisition process.
What we won't do to bring 'em back alive !

I've seen that bici in person - belongs to a forum member.
The box Alberto had that De Rosa in was unbelievable - like 9 clowns in one of those little circus cars. No one I showed the box to could believe it.
