Are there any [new¤t] vintage looking bikes?
Hi, I've been searching the web for a new / current technology road bike that has the look of a vintage bike. Vintage like 70's - 80's frame. Here is a example of the frame I'm looking for : ( https://www.bikespecialties.com/site/...issima-616.jpg ) I know Bianchi has a new bike like this but they don't have a straight top tube. Also, do new bikes ever come with safety brakes anymore? Any ideas? Thanks!

I guess I have to ask what you mean by "safety brakes"? If you mean levers you can squeeze along the top of the drop bars, you can usually put in some interrupter levers if you have aero brake levers.

We just got the new Felt catalog at work and I was looking through it only to find this awesome vintage style Columbus steel roadie with the new campy Athena polished group set. It's so awesome.

None better!
For new vintage, or classic road style, this is the one. Thanks god for the level top tube. I wish we heard more about it.

The Clubman kind of proves a point. $2500 USD for a really nice, classic styled, new bike with Reynolds 531 frame, Shimano 105 DT shifters.
Raleigh International sells for over $6000 USD.
The Felt above is $3000. And the sloping top tube, plain white paint, devoid of any interesting lug work, chrome, or graphics? No thanks.
I don't get the interest in the reproduction/reintroduction modern vintage styled bikes. Vintage bikes continue to be a smokin' hot deal in comparison. For a small fraction of the prices above, you can get the real thing, a similarly built, vintage bike, and build it up any way you want.

Tommasini makes the Fire, X-Fire, Tecno and Sintesi steel frames and a very nice steel fork.
The Masi Speciale Strada even comes with downtube shifters. $895
Lots of custom and semi-custom builders out there; check out the NAHBS.
Torelli makes lots of steel frames: https://www.flickr.com/photos/torelli...41925411/show/
Specialized has a new brand called Globe which makes commuter bikes. Very nice looking.
Trek/Gary Fisher has bikes similar to Globe's; the Belleville is one. https://www.trekbikes.com/us/en/bikes...e/belleville/#
Electra has a number of "retro" bikes. the Amsterdam is a familiar model. They also sell some very nice chrome threaded 1" forks if someone needs a suitable replacement for a vintage ride.
Surly makes the Pacer, Cross Check, and Long Haul Trucker bikes.
There's also Rivendell and Velo-orange.
Check out Linus Bikes, not a sloping top tube in site everything vintage styled.
If you have money for a Pashley, you can also consider Velorbis
Even BikesDirect has gotten into the act.

The new Raleigh Grand Prix has a nice vintage look to it. I saw it over at REI the other day and it made me do a double take. I think it's just over $1000.

Bikesdirect also has a higher end Reynolds 725 steel road bike with lugs and an Ultegra group, for $1,500:

And how about a Pashley? Here are two of my favs...
These temp me more than any current model. (Maybe because in comparison to either of them I'm still young!)

Dare I say Rivendell. Roadeo, A. Homer Hilsen, Bombadil, Sam Hillborne, Atlantis and some others.
Raleigh is putting out some decent classic road bikes, Clubman, Grand Prix, International and Record Ace.
It seems that quite a few independent builders are making some seriously nice looking classic bikes.
Even Specialized makes a steel version of the Allez.

Soma also makes the Stanyan and now the San Marco designed by, dare I say, Grant Peterson. They are both reasonably priced in my opinion. Landshark will also make a custom lugged steel at what I think is an affordable price. You didn't mention Hunqapillar ( I love my Hunqapillar).

I looked at the Raleigh clubman in a shop and thought it was a heck of a deal for a nice steel bike, fenders and all.
I also looked pretty hard at buying a semi-custom frame from ANT bike, he does some wonderful antique looking framesets and complete builds.

De Rosa has the Neo Primato, Colnago has the Master, both very retro new Italian classics.

It is a risk stating this, but Colnago still offers a steel frame too. Price is rather steep.
