I think I got back just in time...

After tearing down my 73 Raleigh International and removing everything but the drive side bearing cup, I decide before I wasted a lot of time on it I would just take it to the LBS hand have them remove it. So off I went, they where not very busy and the mechanic had a go at it right away. Then decide to let it soak in some penetrating oil for a while and requested I come back in a few hours. I said it would have to be in the morning and asked if he needed to take my name for a work order. His answer was, "na I trust ya." Really, I'm not likely to come back for the frame and may skip out on a $5.00 labor charge?

So the next day I go back in and its all ready to go and the same mechanic says as I was paying the bill, "we where just talking about how nice that old frame was and how it would make a great single speed".

This is the same shop that wants to sell me a Waterford...

It would make an awesome single speed.

It would make an awesome anything, which I guess would necessarily include a single-speed.
