Fender Bracket

Just rescued a 1970-ish Hercules three speed bicycle from being scrapped. Needs a little bit of work to get it riding again. One thing it needs is the little metal bracket that holds the fender to the brake bridge. Anyone know where I can acquire said bracket?

Wald has fender parts, and so does Velo Orange. I'm to lazy to look up the links, but it's something like www.waldsports.com and www.velo-orange.com

If what you need is an L shaped piece of sheet metal with two holes in it, you can make it very easily. Hardware stores have galvanized brackets called corner braces (or sometimes "mending plates") in different sizes & shapes. You should be able to find one that you can cut down & drill to fit. If you need the sort that wraps around the outside of the fender, hit up the oldest bike shop in town...

I need the one that wraps around the fender. Thanks to maddox, I found one at Velo-Orange. http://store.velo-orange.com/index.p...cket-wide.html

Didn't even think to look there. Should have been one of the first places. Thanks!

Alternatively, you could drill a hole in the underside of the bridge and use a sheet metal screw through the fender to keep it in place. It makes for a very clean look.
