I don't know anything about the name, but any bike that is that old and in that good of condition deserves to be cleaned up and ridden only on nice sunny days. And if you ever go to Italy for one of their historic tours, you are all set.

That is a wonderful find, [MENTION=254749]mrbog[/MENTION]! If I were you, I'd put it aside in a dry place until I knew more about C&V bikes in general and this bike in particular. It looks to be very much in original condition, and anything you do to it now would probably lessen its value.

Nice classic bike! :thumb: What's up with the covering (tape?) on the headtube, behind the front lugs and on top of the fork? Just turn the bars up a little and enjoy the ride. Actually looks cleaner than my bike. So looks pretty rideable to me. But you are probably only going to want use this as a fair weather bike.

Edit: Searching for the name a bit shows Paratella being an Italian cycle company based in Turin. This link has a translated page talking about an older model:

Some nice history these bikes are. Never knew they existed. Gios Torino was the bigger brand that most have heard about from the same city.

I'm cleaning lugs. No I dont wont to ride it, want to sell it hehe. Its refurbished so it looks clean

So this is a great bike. Paratella was one of the influential builders in Turin. I put him in with the other great Turin "P's" Pela and Picchio, which is appropriate as they were all friends and colleagues. This frame, among a very small group of folks who can appreciate it, is certainly worth investing in. I too would like to see what's going on at the head tube and lugs. What size is this? The original main triangle paint and decals appear to have cleaned up rather nicely. More photos, please!

EDIT: I see it's been refinished. In that case, I'll refer to an earlier post... "anything you do to it now would probably lessen its value"

So bike was rust dirty and i decided to repaint it. I couldnt find no one who would chrome me the lugs. So i said to paint it all green. Now im trying to clean the lugs but it seems like sisyphus job. Every part is original except saddle. Size is i think 51. Very small. Peedals are few inches of the ground. More picc later...

It's a lovely bicycle. Well on the way to a nice looking restoration. Some prefer to keep the original faded paint and patina but, just like vintage cars, a well done restoration can bring a higher sale price. Difficult to recover $ spent unless you do all the work yourself. Don
